Don't be such a soft lad - was a joke or you had your humour bone removed as well as your common sense one

Since when does 11th become 'lower reaches'
Since when does a player wanting to leave a club that has no need to sell mean that the player is always sold - can give you many examples of the players staying - a lot more than those forcing a move

We also get all this additional money that other clubs are getting mate - meaning we have even greater financial reasons we have no need to sell

Did the Stones saga not show you anything at all?

Will make a bet with you mate, IF we sell Barkley this summer then will change my avatar to anything you chose, if we don't I get to chose your new avatar, hell will make the bet even easier for you to win - according to your logic anyway, IF we sell Barkley OR Lukaku then we get to choose each others avatar for the next season?
I think its your common sense bone thats been removed.
11th in the league is not challenging for major honours no matter which way you want to dress it up.
Top players want to win things and play at top clubs i assume you understand that.
Stones and rom will be gone this summer and if ross has a good euro's and the top clubs come circling it will be hard to keep him.
We don't need to sell but if we are going backwards and the big clubs come calling we are going to lose a few.

So we don't need to sell, but for the good of the players careers we will sell them anyway, yeah sounds likely

So was/is Leighton Baines not a top player mate? as he is still at the club - using your rule all top players will 100% leave soon as their is interest no matter what the club wants, Coleman also - still here, see the trend mate

11th in the league is obviously not challenging for top honours, but you never said that mate, you actually said we where in the 'lower reaches' of the league, so will ask again - when is 11th the lower reaches of a 20 team league? could mention a cup semi and cup quarters - at least, but the league point is sufficient.

In the last 15 years how many 'top players' have we exactly lost against our will anyway? and thats whilst the club was broke and on its arse, look at the money incoming next season and youll see how daft thinking we are going to sell Stones, Lukaku and Barkley really sounds and maybe take off the tin foil hat

Notice you didn't take me up on the bet or even mention it in your reply, if your that sure then go for it mate, what you got to lose?

11th and lower is way below where we should be with these players and thats my point.
With coco in charge i expect to go lower.
If we are offered 50 mill for stones he will be gone don't let naviety get in your way.
Rom and his agent will not want to stay if all the big sharks are after him and there is a chance ross could go depending on how he plays for england.
I think its you who has the tin foil hat on i can't believe how naive you.

Never said i disagreed Stones may indeed be sold in the summer, was your assertions regarding Lukaku and Barkley i found silly/panicky

Lukaku is affordable by at a stretch 9 clubs in the world (Arsenal, Chelsea, City, Utd, Chelsea, PSG, Madrid, Barca and Bayern), more realistically it'd be by 5 clubs (Chelsea, City, Utd, PSG and Madrid) and their is compelling reasons why each of those clubs wouldn't bid for him or certainly pay the 50-60m it would take to make us think about it. Who cares what his agent wants really - his agent wanted him out of here as soon as he became his agent - he's still here and wil remain so next season.

As for BArkley - you think he is leaving this summer you have no idea about him then.

Why would a club not pay 50 million for rom of course they would.
There will be so much money coming into the prem and if we that for stones we will get it for rom.
Why is it silly/panicky to suggest rom will go its on the cards and when a big club comes in he will be gone no question.
I am saying barkley could go and if the likes of city come knocking with pep can you sit there and tell me he would deffo not go.

I think we value Rom more than his "worth".

Dont get me wrong, in terms of market value, hes a 60m+ player, but I PERSONALLY could see a bid as low as 40m be enough for a sale.

Just saying.

How many clubs have ever paid 50m+ for a player mate, answer is 13 times in the history of the game, 4 times by Madrid, 3 time by Barca, 2 by PSG, rest are once each by Man Utd, Chelsea, Monaco and Man City. So in answer to ofc they would, 7 teams have EVER paid that much for a player and 9 of the 13 50m+ transfers occurred between just three teams.

The massive amount of money coming in the prem actually makes it easier than ever to turn down bids btw, not the other way around mate, think you've got your thinking on that screwed up somewhere along the line

So go on what Club is going to buy Rom then mate? be interesting to see the answer

I can sit here and definitely tell you Barkley won't leave Everton this Summer, anything else is just scaremongering

Can't see us accepting 40 million for him,we are in the boxseat with rom.

No chance goat mate, paid 28m for him - maybe or maybe not including an additional 5m loan fee, his stock has risen massively since we singed him hence the 'interest' from the moneyed clubs, we don't have any record of selling besides for top dollar either, hate this board with a passion and not Martinez biggest fan - but both sell high

You can't tell me barkley deffo won't leave don't talk rubbish.
How many 1million players were there before trevor francis, the boundries get moved every year or so and next year it will be crazy.
If united paid 58 mill for martial last season that gives you your answer.
Rom could go anywhere united, arsenal and chelsea are just 3 examples.
Anyway i'm off for a pint

I can and have done mate, IF Barkley left then it would shock me more than any other transfer in the past - eventually he may well leave but no chance on earth it will be this summer

United did not pay 58m for martial and if you think they did you read the daily star, the 58m figure you do realise includes every clause in the contract imaginable including a 8m fee for being up for the Ballon D'or ffs

Lukaku going to Chelsea - errrr yes that will happen, as for Rom could go anywhere - no he couldn't - realites and track record shows that he couldn't mate, their is a very very limited amount of clubs who can or would ever pay 50m+ for a player

the likes of the clubs that have broken the 50m + barrier will not be effected by the tv deal anyway as much as others will be due to them already having mega rich backers

It's more about the player's intentions than money.

It's pointless keeping an unhappy player. History would suggest when this happens they end up leaving anyway eventually. If there is interest from a CL club they will want to go. The only saving grace is that they will command a top fee. As long as this fee is reinvested properly I wouldn't get too downhearted about anyone going - most players are replaceable.
