Pantomime or substantial?

I can see Cameron going down in history as the man who wrecked his own country's economic stability to pacify a few backwoodsmen in his own party. Which would be both hilarious and seriously unfunny at the same time.

Our economy is far from stable imo. Relatively speaking, it's better than some other countries, but it's still one event away (Probably the housing bubble) from being a basket-case.

didnt the referendum come about partly cos of going up against eurosceptic david davis in leadership contest(so needing a way of getting euro sceptic mps votes)and THEN cos he was scared of UKIp

basically to get power then...

The whole thing is a farce and we can all see the European view of the UK, send us your money then stfu.....

We need to go back to what we actually voted for, joining a trading block.......
The spin on this will be interesting. The fact that not all the right wing media are in Cameron's corner will make this referendum a very close run thing.

The BBC were very impartial last night with their Question Time panel: four Stay supporters and one businessman who hasn't made up his mind yet....oh, and Dimbleby cajoling pro EU responses from the audience.

I think we know which direction the British Paedo Corporation are pulling toward.

Please sir, can we have an emergency break on migrant benefits. lol

How pathetic. Apparently this will save the UK £35 million a year. We pay the EU £55 million of taxpayers money everyday. Not to mention that benefits is not the reason people migrate to the UK and therefore will not cut immigration numbers.

He's asked for nothing. He's got nothing.

The majority of people in the UK just want to be able to trade and cooperate with the EU. They do not wish to be part of political union, with a flag, an anthem and a proposed army.

Would the British people join the EU if they were not a member? Spending £55 million pound a day, giving up control of our borders, giving up control of our fishing waters, surrendering sovereignty to unelected bureaucrats, making EU courts supreme over UK courts, letting the unelected make our laws (which we can't change).

Of course they wouldn't. Let's leave and look to trade globally as well as the EU. With ties to the Commonwealth and English speaking parts of the world.

Don't think for a second that the working & middle classes'd see any of that £55m...

Other than that, fair points.

as usual he's asking for things he things the public want(stopping benefits) rather than what will actually help us..

stopping benefits will not stop eu immigration(not that im suggesting this is necessarily a bad thing)

If we genuinely are handing over 55m every day (seriously?), then we should get out immediately, pump that money into all things social (housing, public services, nhs). At least then we'd be in a tenable position to be able to allow our fair share (as a European nation, not as an EU nation) of migrants/refugees into a sustainable infrastructure.

Was told recently that it will take up to 30 years (yes THIRTY) to entirely divest ourselves of the EU should we vote to leave!

Personally, I don't know enough of the pros & cons of leaving to make up my mind yet.

More than £55m/day as that was the contribution in 2014 ........
