Roberto Martinez discussion

Don't think he changed much in his tactics still tappy tippy after half time. And his subs were awful today.

The second half was even worse than the first half. Did we create anything that threatened their goal? None? He sticked Rom upfront on his own for 90 mins when West Brom had about 9 players in their own box.

That wasn't the question. You said that not a lot of the 30 odd attempts were on target. Why is that the managers fault?

How was it his fault Barkley smashed it over?

How?

Out-thought by PULIS though....

And whatever the possession stats are, at least 12% of that goes down as 'all the unnecessary touches we take on top of the other touches that aren't really needed either'.

Meh...

Why wait until the end of the season? Surely we can get another 6 points from the next 36?

This is not kneejerking - Coco's subs made Pulis look like Cloughie FFS!

This season is a right-off. I'd rather we sort the right manager out then send Martinez on his way rather than just sacking now and appointing the next conman that comes along.

The issue with just throwing wingers at the problem is that there was no space for them to operate in. West brom just sat back and denied us space in the critical areas, we were never able to use the pace in the side or take the byline, they defended simply superbly.

Martinez throwing on the only other striker we had made a bit of sense. Deulofeu for Lennon was an obvious change, and osman... Well I don't really agree with that one.

The manager got it pretty much spot on, the issue is that the other one did too. And luck favored the baggies on the day.

Barkley from edge of box half chance and then.......?
That wasn't a half chance, had lots of space and imo should have taken a touch into the box then finished as he had the space.
His header over from 6 yards and Barry's shot that was going in blocked on the six yard box.

my concern is whenever a team comes and parks the bus we dont seem to have a plan B. Subs were awful today and i hope thats the last we see of Kone

Kone's a unit, was brought on to stretch the defence with his hold up play and find Lukaku some space. As a player he also provides another attacking threat in the box.
Osman has a clever pass or flick in him and Del is obvious.

Kone is a pathetic excuse for a footballer, who should never wear the #9 again.

Praise?? It's the lack of criticism that's telling. Too easy.

Where was I? Right here. I said - if Mitrovic scores to makes it 1-1 (which he should have), we would have drawn that too.

You're slating a player there for missing a sitter.
But not apparently slating our players for today. Only the manager.

I don't get it.

Real lack of clear cut chances. Lots of half chances, nothing clear cut, except arguably that barkley one where he needs to at least work the keeper
