I don't need to have another plan, I am not the manager of Everton but sure as hell Martinez does and one that is better than the first one. All I know is we lost again. Not looking like a European finish and I think that the likes of Lukaku, Stones, Barkley etc will have no intention of staying with us finishing 10th again.

I don't need to be an almighty one to know that and if you think finishing 10th is a success with the squad we have and we could do better with a worse one you need to get off them drugs pretty damn quickly.

Martinez is NOT the manager to take us forward. Mid term we need to have someone else lined up and say thanks but no thanks at the end of the season to him and move on because at the moment we are moving backwards and have for the last 12 months

We could do better by having 10 men behind the ball at all times. We wouldn't concede that many but then again we wouldn't score that many. Would rather play the way we are than do what WBA do even if it means we could get less points. Either way has its merits but only one way is progressive whilst the other way any 11 players can do it. Balance is what we lack and balance is what we are striving for. We have the players that could well be a great team given the balance but I can't say that about park the bus teams.

I thought the subs were spot on. How they then played may be another thing.

We needed someone else in the box to help Lukaku, so Kone for Cleverley. He's better suited to that than Mirallas.

As well as Lennon was playing, he needed a rest so Deulofeu.

Then we needed to bang one more attacking player on, to try and get that pass to unlock them. Osman for McCarthy again made sense.

Fume and prejudice clouding some minds.

Unfortunately that Howardesque goal in the first half played directly into their strength.

What were them subs come on.
I have said it many times on here you finish with osman and kone on the pitch most of the time we will loose bad management.

Southampton, Stoke, Watford, West Ham all above us.

Lost 6 of our home games, FFS.

They're on a run. We messed up. Still well within touching distance.

I was covering the Watford game (had the Everton game on a different screen). Watford played well, but they got lucky as well - had Palace been able to finish they could have got battered. West Ham got lucky to an extent as well by Norwich collapsing again. Southampton are playing brilliantly.

On the plus side we're only 6 points off 5th but our home form has been the thing that has cost us the chance of any real success this season, we need to get back to winning home games.

My phone just texted me to remind me that we lost 1-0.

I need a new phone. Any recommendations?

Nokia 3310. It can't hurt you like a smartphone can.

Those subs were atrocious. The second half was very poor, and we looked devoid of ideas with 20 left to go. Pulis and his brand of anti football won the day.

Few things learned from that game. We haven't got the nous to break down a parked bus. Jagielka should never be involved in build up play if he carries on wearing steel toe capped boots. Kone is nowhere near good enough. Bobby shouldn't be afraid of hooking Lukaku when he offers nothing. We shouldn't sub our most dangerous player with like to like, we should add danger to danger. Display wasn't too bad its just that we didn't know what to do. Very disappointed overall with result but extremely disappointed in no show Lukaku.

100% spot on.

Harsh on Lukaku though as he was double marked and came deep for the ball...think he just didnt have any joy myself.

Kone / Pienaar / Osman /Mirallas / Deulofeu

Hes gone for kone so lukaku isnt double marked.
Deulofeu for lennnon was weird...
Osman is as much use as kone.

McCarthy probably got a rest near the end.

id have taken barry off...moved Barkley back and brought deulofeu into the centre behind lukaku...also clev off for mirallas.

Terribly unlucky again and pulis teams going ahead is always like this...shows we need a stronger bench in summer.

most subs martinez does do not come off at all,the 1st season every sub he made came off big style, remember pienarr comming on and scoring like 10 or so seconds after walking on lol

What good would 2 wide players do when your centre forward was asleep all afternoon. never got to the front post ball once ,couldn't be arsed.

This disappointed me today. He looked like he wasn't bothered. Never used his strength, lost his first touch and seems to have lost his anticipation. One of the worse games I have seen him play.

Utterly pathetic. No game plan, and those 3 subs were some of the worst I've seen. Kone was pathetic, Osman is useless and Lennon was our best player.

Back down to earth with an almighty and all too predictable bang.

One of those days then?

WBA got their goal, predictably from a corner, shut up shop and refused to play after that. Don't blame them at all, make the most of what you have got.

Everton are at their best exploiting space with quick counter-attacks. Less so against a team with every man back in their own half.

What can we learn? Don't put lofted balls in towards a defence that can deal with that easily. Don't take off Lennon leaving Barry on the pitch whose job had become largely redundant by that point. Kone instead of Mirallas, joke. McCarthy needs to inject some urgency into his game, not strolling around knocking sideways passes as if we were 4 up.
