Oh I so badly wish it was Grantchester instead of bill being the token blue on the board.
Why mate?
It could be argued that he with all the resources he has, has stood by and "fiddled whilst Rome burns"

"There have even been suggestions an American consortium led by former San Diego Padres owner John Jay Moores could be completed by the end of the month. With serious interest from China too, the Goodison board has even suggested a timescale in many months rather than days, and Martinez seemed to confirm that on Thursday, as he spoke openly about the prospect of a takeover."http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/roberto-martinez-believes-evertons-potential-7354559
The Mirror is reporting that the deal is far from done and Everton are still negotiating with a Chinese group and another one from the middle east. It says it could take until the end of the year for a deal to be worked out.
Also quotes Martinez saying new owners will help provide the opportunity to complete projects that will help us towards the goal of CL but that change will come over 2-3 years and not right away.
“If it happens it’s going to be over three years or a period where everything is well controlled and introduced,” he said.
“I don’t think it’s going to be that drastic. If there is an investor it’s not going to be a drastic change from day one, day two. I don’t think that’s going to happen.
“What I can say is we are not in a situation where we need to be rescued or we need some sort of financial boost to save the football club. That’s not the case.
“If there are investors, it will bring the opportunity to fulfil the projects we have behind the scenes and help the ultimate dream, which is becoming one of the best teams domestically and in European football.”

With serious interest from China too, the Goodison board has even suggested a timescale in many months rather than days, and Martinez seemed to confirm that on Thursday, as he spoke openly about the prospect of a takeover."
Senior officials at the club have dismissed those claims, and suggested nothing is likely to be concluded until the end of the season at the earliest – with at least three other parties still negotiating alongside the Americans. Everton sources suggest there is only a 50-50 chance of it being completed, but there is also interest from China and the Middle East, and there is a hope within the boardroom they can find the right investment to move the club forward."

I think you and some others are looking for something new because new is always better.I agree. You think Bill would do any of that?
I think you will find I was the only one a few posts up that said I wouldn't have a problem with Bill staying...for all those reasons you have quoted.I think you and some others are looking for something new because new is always better.
I live a good distance from Goodison, and many of my friends could not understand, but I come from a footballing
family, and when I started to support Everton it was because every one of them said if there was one other club they could have played for it would have been Everton.
So Everton was not just a special club now it was 60, 70 and 80 years ago, Everton for many is not just a football club it is a way of life, and no matter 1hat some think about Bill Kenwright, he knows the soul of Everton and the money, the stadiums, the players will mean nothing, if we lose that soul.
I think Roberto has been touched by Everton and he wants Bill and others including ex-players to pass that onto the new owners.
Yes progress by all means but not at any cost.
A little lad called George was the story today, not because his story happens at every club, but because it happens at Everton.
Let,s not lose that.
He wont.
Just saying......
some token role...his health permittingLife President. [/tapsnose]
