As do most of the premiership players. The finest player the world has ever seen is 5 foot [Poor language removed] all with his hands in the air and half of his squad mates are similar sized. Give me a single instance of him being muscled off the ball.

I'm not suggesting he becomes a Mr Universe but for the type of role he seems to want to play he appears to want/have to dive in a lot. I just maybe think if he bulked up a bit he'd not have to play on the edge so much. I'm not sure of the game but I said just that at the match recently.before his injury.

He hasn't played many games in the last 5 years and is at an age now 23/24 where he needs to step up.

Sometimes he reminds me of Jack Rodwell when he first broke into the team. He has some obvious skills but just seems to lack something.

I dont think he lacks anything other than fitness and maybe a wee bit more positional discipline. His slidies are always immaculately timed.

Is this a verse of an Alan Ball song we've yet to hear?

....I always think of Makelele in that position. He was 5ft 6in, 10st and highly effective.

Mate he has the physique of a boy band reject. He needs more muscle in order to really compete (putting an off colour Toure on the deck doesn't count). If he had more strength he wouldn't need to lunge about so much.

Don't get me wrong I love the little kid's passion but it has to take more than that to succeed in the royal blue under martinez.

If we was a centre half in Hungary and now a dynamic mid in England there should surely be an interim step. A team like Hearts or even Celtic for a month or two would be perfect. Or Helsinki.

The lad needs games in a slower league to find his feet.

Being strong isn't all about size at all.

A perfect example would be Suarez or Sterling - both small players who are strong.

Besic is aggressive in the tackle and he's shown a real improvement in his conditioning and strength when he's been fit this season.

He very rarely loses possession as he shields the ball so well, so size just doesn't factor in to it. In fact I don't recall him being shirked off the ball at all.

And you're actually suggesting that going to Finland... (FINLAND!) is in anyway a step up to Hungary? Tell me how many games do you see in the Finnish league?

Scotland is equally as poor. Plus there is literally no need at all for him to be sent out on loan anyway. He's first in line (when fit) to replace Barry or McCarthy if either of those two are out.

This from the bloke who'd happily see us sell Barkley and get in Jon Walters to play out wide left...

You're quite the spin merchant. For the right price yes I'd happily sell Barkley and yes I'd have liked to see Walters come in during the window. The latter would have been a step up on Kone and no mistake. As it turned out I'm pretty happy with the forward acquisition we did make regardless......

Besic is absolute nails. Last thing he needs is to spend more time furiously lifting weights and getting more and more angry.

Behave this isn't Fifa16. He's a cheeky little pup with too much hair gel. He'd last two seconds with genuine hard men or women from yesteryear.

Would your dad beat his dad in a fight?
