Roberto Martinez discussion

Back to back 3-0 wins. 7th in the league. One goal from being joint top scorers as well, which is nice.

Great from the boss. Great selections and tactics as of late. We've really been working on our defensive play. Something I was led to believe he didn't care about. Getting Jagielka back has helped too.

Nice quiet Martinez thread for a week or so at least now, hopefully.

Robles in Howard out has been what happened with the defence mate, it really is as simple a thing as that

Lessons being learned, results following. Mad isn't it. Completely up to Roberto now which direction he wants to take the rest of the season. Stick with players working hard to get results or put his old favourites back in as soon as they're fit.

It happened last season. My jaw hit the floor when it did, but well, it did!
I think martinez doesn't want players to fear losing their place due to injury, same thing happened with oviedo and Baines in martinez's first season. Oviedo was playing great and Baines went right back in (like he should've, he was the leagues best LB at the time), will be interesting to see what happens with stones as well as howard

He's shown with Lennon that if you play well you keep your place. Lennon has been top drawer for 3 games in a row now. His pace is such an asset. Joel fully deserves to keep his place too, as does Oviedo.

Not for me mate. Jagielka's experience and know-how has to be a calming influence on whoever's playing alongside him, which is probably why for the better part of a year Stones looked fine defensively and then looked dodgy with Mori.

I'm sure not having teenage centre backs playing the full back positions helps too. No doubt in my mind though that Robles has certainly contributed to the improvement in performance like.

Still dont particularly rate him as an incisive manager. Its all good we look to have turned a corner but all he has done is changed what us fans have been saying for a long time and its only been changed out of injuries.

1 - Drop Howard and give joel a run in goal, cleansheets and a more solid looking defensive unit.
2 - Take stones out of the team for mori and jags who are predominantly safety first players.

Its hardly ground breaking stuff when 80% or more fans could see it needed to be done and its only happened through injuries again as it did last time howard missed a few.

Certainly deserves it...i cant fault him today. Marvellous win, played with grit and determination. :celebrate::celebrate:

Boss when he gets it bob on and I mean it's BOSS.

Boss when he gets it bob on.

Bringing Lennon back into the fold has been a masterstroke, players following his desire all over the pitch.

Got lucky with injuries to Howard allowing him to play Joel, but that'll be a test. He can't afford to drop him.
