Roberto Martinez discussion

This poat single handedly sums up the viewpoint of most of those with some bizarre negativity aowards Martinez.

totally illlogical.

The forum is about opinion. Mine is based on facts. Look at money spent, league position, goals conceded etc.

If my results at work declined over 2 years from the last guy, despite having better team mates and greater resources at my disposal I'd be asked questions, and deservedly so.

Martinez run fits that description. I'm far prouder and feel more committed to the guys that dragged Everton from relegation contenders to Europe, rather than an opportunist too arrogant to admit fault.

THAT IS LOYALTY.

You tell him lad, Moyes would have this team on top of the pile.

Personally I think he's doing a tremendous job. Ok, the results have been iffy the last 2 seasons but he is slashing the average age of the squad, plus Osman, hibbert and Howard will all be gone in the summer.

Moyes left us with an aging squad. He's leaving deep roots

Stones, Barkley, Naismith, Coleman, fellaini, mirallas...?

Don't get me wrong, I think Martinez has not disgraced himself totally transfer wise ( mainly bolstered by RL ). But as much, if not more value was in the squad he inherited - consider Barkley and Stones alone.

in terms of roots... Also those players were happy to be at Everton then under Moyes, but may now be as attracted elsewhere, because they're not in a progressing side.

Also whoever comes in next will need to totally re vamp defence.

besic, del, Rom, probably McCarthy and Barry good signings, albeit Barry.not exactly the future.

Have you ignored previous debates or did they not make a difference to your opinion?

I just don't want to waffle on again with a previous point if it's the latter. I'm boring enough.

Naismith and fellaini? 2 dross players Bob has got serious cash for. Why would anyone need to revamp the defence???

Coleman stones mori baines. With Galloway, holgate, browning, garbutt for the future. Just need another RB.

Who says we are not progressing? I think we are. We basically need to concede one goal a game less and we'd be near the top. I trust him to sort that

It's funny 'cos it's true.

It's also a bit grim really.

*two less in some games would also be good.

On the school run my eldest (7) informed that they'd been learning about the ISS in class.

'....yeah, we've being doing about TIM HOWARD too, he's on it, he done a space walk outside the station and he might have to do another one if it breaks again...'

'Are you SURE it was Tim HOWARD'.

'Yes...yes I am'

'OK'

Is this possibly why BOB has finally seen fit to drop him? TBH I felt it'd take something like this for him to shake it up.

So, despite everything, all the points an' that, I wish TIM well.

*hope he doesn't drop anything.
