Digital display on boiler. What's wrong with the mechanical dial? It provides an instant visual reference point instead of having to press loads of buttons to set the time or whatever.

I was thinking about this recently, how you barely see an analogue meter of any sort these days, in any appliance. Even cars have an almost completely digital dashboard these days. So much reliance on circuitry, batteries, cables etc. Worrying if something shorts whilst you're driving!

That was all fine and dandy, save for the fact that they sandwiched a 10-minute portion on right whales which have massive orgies.
