Robles needs to stay in, we looked much more assured with him in goal.

Really good from the manager tonight.

They had one decent chance all game, whereas we could easily have had 7 or 8, but for some world class goalkeeping. That's hopefully the kind of performance we can see a lot more of in the last third of the season. Having Jagielka back looked to calm things a bit at the back and we'll hopefully get better the more games he plays in.

My judgement on Martinez is from now until the end of the season. It was a good win tonight but anything less would have been dreadful.

We need to get our first set of back to back wins for the season with the game on the weekend, prove the doubters wrong Bobby.

Seemed to be a lot less dribbling around in our own area and a tad more row z stuff tonight, not pretty but I'll take it if it means clean sheets. Maybe Roberto saw Merson's rant.

As a defender myself, I'll say this.

Newcastle were awful so not much of a barometer but at least flappy didn't play and i hope that penny has dropped

Good win tonight against a poor team, I would like to see us chase teams and put pressure on the opposition instead of dropping off.
