Yeah it seems a bit, well, pathetic that we passed up the chance to get Charlie Austin - a proven, English, Premier League goalscorer - for a mere 4m but are prepared to spunk a huge 13m on a complete unknown quantity from Africa.
For a mere 100k week and questionable fitness record

Kone is just not good.

We did a sponsored game against Leicester last month and about 50 minutes before kick off we were down in the tunnel and Kone was walking up and down in a dressing gown and slippers, carrying a saucer with a cup of tea on it.

To say he has a relaxed attitude would be understating it.

As has been printed and quoted on here multiple times, Austin wanted a wage that would destroy our structure or would make us up the limit significantly for a backup striker. Let's not get into the fact that Niasse hasn't signed yet.

game not on the TV (thanks Fox for shoving it on a network no one gets!) but apparently we are doing well. Always was going to be tough for Carlslie to travel down to the south coast

Absolutely no chance he is even on half of that, mate!

If we're not in the business of giving players the chance to prove their fitness, why did we offer Kone a new contract and why are Osman, Hibbert, Gibson and Pienaar still on the books?

I simply refuse to believe that.

He is a 15 goal a season striker, is Austin. McGeady earns around 50k, same as Pienaar. I can't imagine Austin is on much more than either of those two, who offer nothing whatsoever to us.
