Martinez to seek meeting with ref bosses

He hasn't backed up ANYTHING with stats that prove his point. Just stats that show other teams got more penalties than us over a 5 year period, someone has to be last you know... and we were only last by 2 penalties, over a 5 year period.

Of course corruption exists in football do you honestly believe there is a conspiracy against poor old Everton ? Honestly ? Im just speechless that anyone can actually convince themselves thats the case.
I believe in certain circumstances there is a lot of pressure on referees to favour particular clubs and therefore penalise others who might be threatening their position in the money chain. As Everton are one of the teams considered unfashionable and less marketable, but relatively successful, then I can easily imagine they've suffered more than others.
As I've said previously there used to be an independent website that scrutinised it pretty effectively and in seasons when we were pushing for fourth there was always a ten point or so swing between us and teams in the top four. And these were the really clear cut decisions, not fifty fifty ones.

I certainly think we're tripe at winning penalties, and say, Dell is prone to dramatics so gets jibbed off. Otherwise we stay on our feet. I don't think there's a conspiracy.

I'd also say that possible mistakes made by referees that penalise the bigger clubs will be highlighted more by the media and mean they would naturally be unconsciously biased.
Doesn't mean they are out to get us but mistakes against us can be more easily forgotten.

Its embarrassing that we're even discussing this. Corruption does exist in football but its not why Everton aren't getting results.

It was the reason against Chelsea and probably would have been against City.
The mood around the club would be very different now if just those two hadn't happened.

Everton have scored 40 goals this season - 2 less than Leicester and 18 more than Swansea - yet we are waiting for our first penalty -
i am not going to call you names for ignoring that - but please explain ? 9 penalties against 0 with only 2 goals less - my mind is too small to just accept that as part of the game
Those 42 Leicester goals also include all the pens theyve scored. If we are going on just open play goals we've scored substantially more.

Yes there is corruption but the refs don't put the ball in the net. The opposition still have to get past our whole team to score. We can't completely prevent poor decisions so I think our manager could better use his time on the training pitch.

You haven't had anything even remotely bordering on a point in this entire thread, just the same old cliche delusional ramblings about conspiracies against your team that I see on every football forum including the big teams.

As I've already said, the facts you posted are 100% pointless without knowing if the penalties were legit or not. All it shows is that teams the best attacking teams in the league over the last 5 years have got more penalties, SHOCK HORROR.

With your post about Leicester and Swansea you genuinely implied that refs have been told to give us less penalties than other teams...

Im sorry but you can't imply things like that and not expect someone to call you out on it.
Penalties are judgment calls though, you'd expect them to even out over time, if the refereeing were balanced.

Man United got their goal against Derby tonight where technology clearly showed the receiver was in an off side position -
We are trying to make out a case for the bigger use of technology to ensure fairness - we are not happy with two wrongs making a right like some fans on this forum -
but the large number of blatantly wrong decisions (not only penalties) and warped statistics are just swept under the carpet and we are purposefully painted as a mad bunch of deluded conspiracy theorists to discredit us -
If 16 of the top 50 tennis players and many professional cricketers (another scandal in South Africa at the moment) and cyclists and athletes have been involved in match fixing who is soccer to believe that they are untainted especially if the big boss Blatter set the example of how to be crooked and get away with it for decades? -
Match fixers don't come and announce themselves - they have to be sniffed out - why do you think you are normally the last guy to find out that your wife has been cheating you ? people don't ask enough questions and accept things far too easily.
The fact that no one in football has been caught doping is a case in point - in all other sport some culprits have been caught - but noooooo footballers are all honest clean living citizens because no one has been caught - so there is no proof - just another conspiracy story -
guys you are happily being led down the garden path by people protecting their interests if you believe money people doesn't make their money work for them -just ask Volkswagen

Don't see that this is an 'either, or' situation at all.

City didn't get a penalty in the league game against us that finished 0-0. 1-1 v Norwich, should've been 5 up in first half, is that the refs fault? 2-0 up against Chelsea we decide to defend deep, is that the refs fault?
I'm afraid the points you make aren't valid just excuses as its still our fault why we find ourselves where we are not the refs.

i have never said bad decisions is the only reason why we are in a bad position -
but the fact that we are in the bottom half of the table also does not mean we have not suffered some rediculously poor decisions this season -
Jreverton1 are you happy with the wrong decisions for and against us ?
Should anything be done about it or is it just fine and part of the game get robbed with a clear off side goal?
