but if the problem is ourselves then it makes the game much harder. Can we beat stoke? yes we can, to be fair if the defence hadn't decided they cousln't be arsed then we were 3-1 up with 15 minutes to go.

Can we beat city? we already have done once this month

can we beat liverpool? pur derby wins even over the past 10 years suggest that will be tougher than the others.
Klopp hasn't had a derby yet - you need to get a bit of confidence mate, they're beatable right now.

aye they are beatable, but that is always the story lol

even when we are beating them we then sit back and wait to lose, it is almost like we are scared to beat them rather than any mental challenge.

stoke last night feared them, and they defended much deeper than they had to overall, its kinda like us most games with them

Is it 8 times? [Poor language removed], who'd be an Evertonian. That's gut wrenching.

Thats what i heard on the radio this morning although I'm thinking they were probably talking about how many times we've been knocked out of cup competitions by them, not specifically in the final.

My Everton memories only goes back to about 86 so maybe someone more clued up can chime in ?

1986 was the worst. Their powers were waning, we had Lineker and Sharp and scored goals for fun. We should have won the double, but they did. We led in the final and they were fighting amongst themselves, but we still managed to lose.

That season was hard to take as a young lad I'll tell you. Didn't seem to be the same hostility towards them then though.

That's because you were young, and they were pushing the 'friendly derby' rubbish like there was no tomorrow. I remember Liverpool flags and scarves being burnt in the Street End back then, the old lags always hated the bastards...
