It wasn't you so that's easily spouted, as you're not the club captain on £45k a week, who's been told to host Bill Gates and Osbourne who are visiting to promote a charity event.

Martinez escaped the same wrath for some unknown reason. Faux outrage again.

Firstly, Martinez isn't a British national - this isn't his country.

Secondly, as I've said - I'd be searching within my contract to find out if I was obliged to perform duties for exterior corporations; for charitible purposes or not.

Thirdly, I don't believe there was any obligation for jagielka to hold aloft an EFC shirt with osborne's name on it. Nor do I think he was obliged to smile for camera. I know I certainly wouldn't have done. I also said in an earlier post that I'd be making my representations/objections quite clear if I was contractually obliged.

And I also said I'd rather have made a donation of a week's wages to ETIC to have avoided it.

Finally - I don't remember any comeback off sunderland for James McClean when he declined to wear a shirt with a poppy...

Just out of interest, @davek pointed out at the beginning of this thread that EitC and EFC are seperate entities, so what has the club got to do with this?
The attacks should be on Martinez, Howard, Kone and Jagielka for taking part in a personal capacity or is it a case of convenient use of information.
By the way, the last budget was more Labour than Labour managed in all their time in office with regard to small business structures and buy to lets.

Martinez has lived in this country for 20 years ffs lol

You're relating it to you, it wasn't you, therefore not your decision to make - and you can't say that's what you've have done definitively either, as you've not worn his shoes.

It was Jags, and he did what he was told to do and probably never even gave a thought to someone on the internet applying a political slant and giving him pelters for making an appearance with one of the wealthiest men on the planet and Osbourne to promote a charity event.

The club and EitC are seperate. But there's a big picture there of the so called captain beaming away with Osborne. Hard not to notice like. He's representing EFC. That's the issue.

Sorry, are you saying that this was an official EFC thing and all your pedandtry at the start of this thread was wind up material.
Or as stated in my last post should the so called manager, so called goalkeeper and Kone be equally lambasted for doing this?

No. I'm not saying that. I'm saying our (nominal) captain is standing there with Everton gear on and clearly representing Everton with what I regard as a criminal.

If Martinez is posing for pics with him on that individual basis rather than a photo he's in with Bill Gates then yes.

So Martinez Howard and Co are spared the vitriol. It's this one photo that you object to rather than the off camera visit.
Strange stance in my opinion.

The visit was in conjunction with EitC who had asked and were granted permission by the club to host Gates and that slug at FF. It's their baby. Baxendale carries the can ultimately for it.

I dont see any contradiction here. maybe you can point it out?

He hates Jags, he's used the picture to stick the boot in to Jags. The hypocrisy of only picking him out when Martinez et al were also there, but are spared the same vitriol because pics of them as individuals stood with Osbourne, either weren't taken or not published - is seemingly lost on him.

Matters not to me who held up the osborne shirt & grinned. Had it been anyone else, they'd have been the subject of criticism for it - and rightfully so, imo.

Maybe a few months being forced to play football for £70 pw or whatever the dole is, while living in squalor on a sink estate, might help jagielka (and perhaps a few on here) see things from the point of view of those who are critical/cynical...You know - some of those who use what little disposable income they have to support the club?

Gates doesn't/shouldn't come out of it smelling of roses neither. The man's an unabashed monopolist. Easy to appear as some sort of philanthropist when you've gained your fortune by preventing others from gaining a foothold in your market...:dodgy:

OK so your stance is that the club, EitC and therefore everyone involved in this is morally wrong and the opportunity to get publicity if not money for EitC should passed up because the Tories are in power, rather than Labour.
Correct me if I'm wrong
