Not trying to sound all Scottish but i try to spend as little as possible and squirrel away as much as possible.
I just think the more i can save the earlier my retirement date becomes.

What on earth could you even buy for $60? Mental. You remind me of an old fella I used to work with in a factory who had the snidest white bread butties with slices of tomato on, nothing else. Every single day, and he was laughing at us with proper dinners because 'he'd have his mortgage paid off in 15 years'
Oh wow, 15 years of tomato butties on snide bread or actually having some sort of life, tough choice.

Yep, not arsed about clearing my mortgage by 50 if it means I have to live like a povvo for the next 15 years.

Won't clear my mortgage early as I have a very low interest rate and a mortgage is forced savings.

And the $60 is for personal use. We set aside cash at every paycheck that is earmarked for groceries and entertainment. Once that money is gone, we eat what we have. Encourages self control.

I've bought a Gibson SG Standard and Fender Princeton Amp in the past 18 months with cash because I had saved and I felt like it.

Also have plenty in savings if we need it.

If I quit my job, I could probably make it a year without a new job without tapping credit, equity, or retirement at this point.

And all of this is with my wife staying at home with 2 kids and my medical bills from kidney cancer.

Fiscal responsibility, folks.

every week mrs.k and I take £200.00 out the bank.... that's for food shopping, gas and electric top ups, fuel for the week for my car , we eiher eat out on a Saturday night or we get a takeout. Plenty enough to see us through the week. Rest of our money stays in the bank and pays all our other bills, whatever is spare that month adds on to what's already inn there. If we want anything extra he money is in the bank. I personally don't even have a credit card... I have no use for one.

I spend money on some right rubbish. I reckon I spend about 40 a week on junk food at weekends alone. I can have quite cheap months but then I'll go and spend 150-200 on a night out.
