Daniel Bentley from Southend probably getk him for 2.5 million
It's not so much defending him as trying to make people realize that it is in fact possible to have some other goalkeeper come in and be worse. One of my biggest worries about Everton going forward is that Martinez starts believing that Tim Howard is as bad as some of our supporters make out and decides to bring in someone like Marshall or Begovic on the cheap to replace him. Which would most likely leave us worse off than we were before, especially if we keep defending the same way we have been this season.
I think @zirc is right; we need a keeper suited for the style we're playing. Just grabbing the first guy who becomes available isn't going to cut it.
A keeper who tries to command his box, and releases the ball quickly. You may be onto something there.Or you experiment with Joel Robles first to see if with a run in the team he is capable??
Whilst generally accurate, I'd consider editing the last word in line 2. It may bring you some bother.edited
I apologise for the picture if it broke forum rules. Did not realise.
I still hate Tim Howard.
Rubbish as he plays well in the cups in which we win the ties yes we win !I truly wonder what Joel looks like in training. Can't be very good can it?

Butland no chance 20- 30 million at least when DM could have signed him for 3 million! If you look at Sunderland they have sold Pantillimon and brought back Jordan Pickford from Preston loan to come in as 1st choice. Allardyce is no fool and plays to win though always goes for experience in his teams so its noteworty that he would start a 21 year old keeper. Hes the current starting England u21 keeper and the u19 keeper is Freddie Woodman whose dad i think used to play for Crystal Palace.
We dont seem to have any young keepers in the youth sides who are highly rated so it would make sense for us to go and buy someone elses just like Stoke buying Butland and loaning him out until he was ready.
If we want to go for a "sure thing" then we go for Butland. The next best idea is to go for Pickford as Sunderland will have given him half a season as starter before the summer.
Options for me are:
A-- Sign a 1st choice experienced keeper and also Woodman or similar to loan out. Keeping robles on the bench during this time until they are ready.
B-- Sign a young keeper like Pickford,Horn,Scuffet etc and have them for 15 years.
C--Go all out for Butland who is both experienced and young.
The lowest risk would be Butland and next lowest would be a Pickford type depending on how he does this season as both currently play in the league.
No way should we go for Marshall or similar for such a key position. Other than Martyn weve only had Southall so we are traditionally quite poor in this position...that needs to change.

Compare him with the rest!
HAHAHA. The only stat you can really take notice of there that isn't irrelevant or subjective, is percentage of shots saved. Of which Howard is nowhere to be seen in the top 10
Fans generally accept that Howard is good on his line.
Their great criticism, of course, is that he won't come off it.
The best place I have seen him this season was sat on the bench behind RM chewing his gum - while Robles was helping us to beat a very good City team 2-1!He's not good at anything at all, wherever he is on the pitch tbf
