Roberto Martinez discussion

Its all very well written, but the main gist of it fails to note that you are commenting on what he says in public.

That doesn´t mean he is all peaches & cream with every one of them behind closed doors.

I´d be amazed if he is.

totally agree, however, we can only speculate as to what goes on behind closed doors and comment and form opinion on what is actually presented to us (with a healthy dose of skeptism toward PR obviously), the continued presence of the pipe merchant in between the sticks however is a reality that questions Bobs ruthlessness

As long as we get some form of Europe I'll be happy (would mean either top 6 or a cup)

Aye mate. There is a lot of potential in this team and they're getting better at the defensive side I think, but we've left ourselves too big a job to have a great season in the League.

This is about winning something, finishing in a decent position and then hopefully using it as a Launchpad for next season.

People say he was quite ruthless with Distin though, no?

I dont want Howard in nets, but I think sticking with a poorly performing but senior keeper is not that clear an indication of a lack of ruthlesness IMO. I think many managers might make the same choice.

English media is attacking Bobby because he got angry. They are saying he has lost the plot. He shouldn't have said it because we got away with Stones tackle on Aguero.
Just listening talksport. ..should be on shortly.

There is just simply no defending his record over the past two seasons now.

We've been in the bottom half near enough consistently for a year.

I'm not sure attacking is the word. He has gone from defending the indefensible to moaning about the indefensible in the space of 72hrs. He's contradicted himself...Managers always do it, and are rightly criticised. It's his turn, he can't go on National TV and say the Stones tackle wasn't a pen to hammering a ref for getting it wrong and not expectant comeback.

The fact that they make bigger story about Martinezs reaction than ref screw up is infuriating. But this just shows what ever happends you shouldn't critisise refs. It only leads to trouble.

Perhaps we should have an offensive coach and a defensive coach as in American Football, with the offensive coach (Martinez) having the last word.

As long as he doesn't get Sanctioned by the FA, I quite like the fight...He comes across a nice guy, it's good he shows the other side of him. My problem is the consistency, his reaction on Saturday probably wasn't appropriate because of what he said on Wednesday, however if he'd of acted Like Hiddink on Wednesday and reacted the way he did on Saturday, then their is simply no criticism/conversation to be had.
