How can anyone lose respect for a man who was the greatest goalkeeper on the planet, who has played more games for Everton than anyone else and was a massive part of our most successful team ever..... If he says a keeper is good, he is good, if he says he's crap then he's crap. No one, not one single person alive today, has more of a right or the knowledge or the experience to comment on an Everton goalkeeper..........

Meh. What you say about him is all correct. I just have a difference of opinion on whether ex players should criticize current players publicly. I respect his time at Everton and his stewardship of the club since...
...but talking negatively in the public as an authority with a voice that carries so much weight grinds my gears. Praise publicly. Criticize privately.

I dont really think Howard is the GK of the future and yes he has shown he has lost step. Just think the bitching should be kept among the fans and paid analysts.

Bitching for the sake of it is never a good thing and I fully agree it shouldn't happen. But, eventually, facing up to reality means that something has to be said. It was the same with Moyes when he lost the plot. Saying nothing really isn't an option.......

Nev says what he thinks and won't bow to the club if he feels they're not doing themselves or the fans justice. I like that.
