Confidence in the defence Doug on the BBC today saying how arsenal have needed a keeper remember how bad their defence has been looks better now!
They put a list of clean sheets by the best Keepers, and Nigel Martyn was in the top five since the prem was formed Doug!

Where was Howard Joe?

Poor defending may cost RM his job. Anyone who thinks Howard is anything more than one aspect of that is deluding themselves. We can't defend when we're playing at home. Full stop. Every single player on the pitch and coach at the club bear some responsibility for that, and I have to think the so-called supporters who boo our keeper and start whistling any time we hold onto the ball for more than a few seconds without making a forward pass also bear some responsibility. No one is blameless, and the idea that if we just swap out Howard for any other keeper we'll all of a sudden start keeping clean sheet after clean sheet is pure insanity. Being a popular opinion doesn't make it any less wrong.
You're deluded!

Why do we concede twice as many goals at Goodison as we do away?

Really think it's the fans fault? Wow.

Not the fact we could play different styles between home and away? Or even just coincidence as it's a very small sample to draw conclusions from.

Of course he is don't be silly.

Robles at the age of 25 (soon to be 26) hasn't even managed 50 top flight games, he's a professional bench warmer and will never be a top flight first choice goalkeeper in this league.

Howard's is still streets ahead of him.

He really, really isn't. Robles has been given a small fraction of the chances Howard has, when he had a run in the team he did well.

Howard doesn't possess the simple attributes required to be a decent goalkeeper. These have been massively highlighted this season. Frailties which were there for a while are coming up more often as we are defending worse of late.

When Robles gets a run in the team again we will see just how poor Howard really was for us.

Why do we play different styles, though? Do you think it has something to do with the way the supporters start grumbling and whistling if we haven't scored after ten minutes?

The atmosphere at Goodison has been poisonous for the last year. It makes me ashamed to support the club at times. I'm going to leave it at that for now, though, since this is getting off the thread topic.

Howard's not streets ahead of any Kepler on the planet

Thinking that Tim is not at fault - this forum, and most of the ground of our fans think it's down to him!
Tim is at fault, yes. But not significantly more than anyone else at the club. Whether or not other people think the same has absolutely nothing to do with whether that's wrong or right.
