Halfway point of the season

Unfortunately, having been soundly thrashed this afternoon, your views are a touch hollow.

Oh dear.

Still looking forward to the sound Europa League quote dear chap. Is there a word in the GOT dictionary for someone who accuses someone of saying something and can't find the quote. I know you have had a hard day on here but surely you can muster enough energy to find the quote where I said I blamed our league form on the Europa League.

Still of the opinion that giving Deulofeu and Barkley a complete free role and moving Besic into a midfield 3 like we did against Chelsea, would be a winner. Still of the opinion that City have only kept 3 clean sheets since August and if we go 4-3-3 home and away we'll be at Wembley.

I'm very frustrated so far, we should be higher up the league, no doubt about that. Some of it is bad luck, with injuries to players in key positions, some terrible refereeing decisions have cost us and some poor defending. I would hope the return of jags will help either mori or stones and i would like to see robles given a go. Still a long way to go but we have to get it right soon.

Agree with that. He's not the best we could have as I've said loads of times, but he does seem to exert discipline on Stones - maybe not by bellowing at him and organising him, but through seniority.

Imo, Stones is costing us dear at the moment: lunging in, selling himself and going to ground, positionally out to lunch.

Agreed, the success that Martinez is being attributed on the net needs to move onto the pitch

Wishful thinking like. Admittedly, I'd like to shake the hell out of Martinez and tell him too sort that f'ing defence out. Time will be the judge because if he doesn't change he's losing support by the bucket load every game. People only have so much grace when shelling out a fortune to watch our beloved.

Here hee sorry to comment on the post of an acolyte. Not got a problem with Dave, Martinez on the other hand, currently laughable and needs to change his ways sharpish.

Aye you're new, if you think i'm an acolyte, i was firmly in the out camp last season but I stopped pissing my pants and gave us a fresh start this season. Am I happy? not on your life but I'm a lot more optimistic than this time last year even though we are in the same position.

Mate, you are arguing with a fella who picks certain words out of a sentance and posts an answer that make no sense to the original post.

You really think we are beating city over 2 legs then bogey side Liverpool or the team that's just done us at home with our defence? Absolutely no chance.
for the record...yea. I believe we can.

..but that wasnt the post I made. I said an 8th place finish and a cup win would satisfy my expectations/needs this season.

I think Stones is being hung out to dry a little bit at the moment though. He keeps being exposed 1v1 because McCarthy's not there to cover our ridiculously attacking right hand side, and because he's not the quickest, he has to take risks. I think he's done quite well to cope with it to be honest.

The only major flaw he needs to address for me is how he defends the near post: the positions he takes up aren't quite right and he's nowhere near dominant enough. He could do with adding the 'big sidefoot' to his game. Get it out of there, John.

Dave admitting Jags might improve our situation!?

Centre half partnerships are often a case of synergy and it's never a simple case of having two good defenders paired together. Jagielka is a solid presence, and has the kind of experience Stones will siphon off in this early stage of his career. Would like him back for the League Cup, if possible.
