His sarcastically applauding the fans today was the last straw for me. He doesn't deserve our support. You can't act that arrogant when you're conceding 4 at home against Stoke.

Who was it against where we were losing, he was playing as bad as ever etc. and he whacked a goal kick straight out of play and just laughed? I thought that was bad enough, the sarcastic clap today was unbelievable.

I know,I saw that, how arrogant is he expecting an easy ride after the countless pigs ears he's made?I noticed straight after he was about 20 yards out of his goal for about five minutes, obviously he couldn't hack it!!

Be nice to see his supporters come out and acknowledge how awful he is, don't Yank my chain here fellas.

I'm not a supporter of his as such but do feel he is being used as a huge scape goat for a back line that was just highlighted on motd as being very very poor. Granted he isn't the best and we do need a new keeper soon but for people to sarcastically applaud when he takes a cross is pointless and does nothing but put him under more pressure, which as a keeper is not a position where you want someone to feel under more pressure. He's been a cracking servant to the club and people blame him whenever we lose irrespective of whether it was his fault or not, e.g today.

Wait, we give up four goals at home, only one of which most of you are blaming on Howard, and that's the last straw? Or was the last straw when he didn't react well to supporters giving him stick? What did he do today that was any worse than the other keeper -- the one who everyone would be happy to spend £20 million to replace him with?

Pretty sure he's been giving it to the supporters on and off for a while now, today wasn't a first.

There's a very real and simple reason he's being labelled a "scapegoat": he's not very good. Scapegoat is the wrong word anyway, that would imply he's being hard done by in the criticism here. He's not. He's damn awful and needs binning.

Fans have a right to show displeasure at 24 months of poor performances. He should be keeping his head down working hard but hes more wrried about petty squabbles. Shows his losing mentality.

eh, 24 months of poor performances?! He's had a patchy few months yes but not 2 years!!

What is this last straw you're on about? He's been awful for 30 months, except when he saved some shots against a Div 2 class national team.

Yes replace him. Then we won't have any Americans on the books and we can lose some eye patches from our support.

cant remember such blanket condemnation of a player on GOT, thanks tim for bringing us all together!
Phil Neville vs Wigan in the FA Cup probably.

It's a bit unprofessional to sarcastically clap the fans, it's not the first time he's reacted to the crowd either.
