Roberto Martinez discussion

Not just the keeper Dave as you well know
Howard has cost us about 8 points this season. He's been a liability. This is a young defence with Jagielka out of it and Howard gives them no protection and has made loads of howlers.

Even if Robles were in we'd be further up the table. There's no doubting that.

Did I specifically blame Stones and Mori? I simply said, and say again, the players should share the blame for the way we concede goals....80% of the goals conceded are individual errors.
You blame who you like mate if it makes you feel better.

and what does the manager do when individuals balls it up?

The thing is, teams don't create an abundance of chances against us. They'll create more than before because we're more open, but we also create a hell of a lot more than we used to. leicester nor stoke hardly peppered our goal, but have come away with 7 goals (including 3 penalties). It's just silly individual errors, Martinez is hardly picking crap starting XI's that we're all disagreeing with. Of course he's partly to blame, but when they step over the white line, it's the players' responsibility for most of the errors. I do blame him for every error howard makes though, because it's clear to see that's one massive issue with his starting XI's.

I'm happy with that. Attacking team and we'll see where that gets us. Right now midtable; sort a GK out - way up there.
If it was moyes you would want him out.
Whatever your fascanation is with martinez at some point you have to look at the facts and be realistic mate

The defenders and keeper must take a fair bit of blame but with all due respect can't see how anybody is backing the manager tonight. The lad is supposed to be obsessed with studying football and tactics. He leaves Kone on with Besic on the bench as he must view that as a more reliable tactic to see off a game. Utter nonsense. Lukaku is a hugh smokescreen for him

It has gone beyond a joke, that stat about stoke only scoring 5 or 6 away this season sums it up. We are a shambles. 9 points from top 4 but 9 points from relegation. Given our next few games If villa and the bottom 5 weren't so muck we'd be f&cked.

I reckon I could do a better job at organising the team than Martinez does. Everything is a phenomenal, important part of what we are trying to achieve here but it's all a load of bollox.

Either get a decent defensive coach or [Poor language removed] Martinez, enough is enough.

what premier league clubs have you managed mate?

Spot on mate. These players need to start acting in a professional way.

The manager cant bale them out, he's not on the pitch.

Lolz you were saying what a blessing it was when Jags got injured..

Lets be honest, it's a bit of both. We had three defenders on the pitch today who, barring a few games last season for Galloway, had never been on the same pitch till this season. Two of them are very young and one's only just moved here from Argentina. Those are the mitigating circumstances.

But, as a manager, knowing that, you'd normally be working very hard to get them drilled as a defensive unit on the training ground. If that's happening, then the results of that training aren't apparent on match day.

It could also be a desire to improve those aspects of your game you need working on as a player. Lukaku has worked on aspects during the summer on his own accord and with some training schedules from the coaches. The results are there for all to see.

also mentioned on motd - inexperienced back four

no Martinez criticism from the well respected experts of wright and shearer here
