Roberto Martinez discussion

You wanted the manager sacked in August
What is your point, that someone who was right 6 months ago can't be right now? I'll never ever ever ever understand the mindset that who feared this form under this manager has a less than valid point when it comes to fruition

11th place isn't acceptable. But the season didn't end today.

I know but, he's had 2 and half years now......and we still have no clue (not just today) how to defend....
So we wait another 6 months to see if the penny drops with him?, cause it won't sadly...the Bournemouth game told us every thing we need to know about Martinez' team, and today a few weeks later we see the same thing....

There is - get a new man in, get his feet under the table and a clean run at the summer window with the Lukaku/Stones money to rebuild.
That's what Villa did with Sherwood and Benteke/Delph money. A recipe for success.

I'd rather trust Martinez with this money than someone new if we don't want to share a Villa/Leeds/Sunderland/Newcastle/QPR/Fulham fate.

He needs to understand that the team he currently has has the ability to kill off games or go on to score more goals. He totally lacks the killer instinct. All too often Everton have dominated the opening half and been a goal or two up only to see the game end in a draw or a loss. Every time he backs off, the game gets out of control. Wasting a very talented team right now. He understands how to dominate possession and how to score, he does not understand that once you score a goal or two that you still need a strong defensive strategy. Needs more steel in the defense and a better keeper!

It's not really something you brag about being right about

You do know he won't be sacked though yeah?

And that changing the manager mid season could be utterly catastrophic with so very much you people want changing yeah?

I still like the guy but he made a big error to day bringing naismith on, defensively we shouldn't be conceding all these goals but Howard doesn't inspire confidence and his distribution is awful if he's not rollling it out to one of the defenders, a 5 man midfield is not providing any support for a young defence and for all the talk of a "number 10" type player we really need a strong tackling central midfielder,

We're really poor at defending as a team. When I look through that 11, we struggle to defend from the front. Kone, Lukaku, Deulofeu and Barkley are poor at defending, poor at harassing and closing down and it obviously doesn't help the team one bit.

We can't look to the Cahills and Naismiths of the world, because even with their superb attitudes to teamwork and work rate, they're limited footballers who won't win you titles. We just need to instill their mentality into our team.

The attitudes are naive and under-developed; the skills and talent is there for all to admire.

Sherwood is/was an utter fraud manager though.
