Roberto Martinez discussion

He showed at this time last season that he can change and adapt. When under massive pressure from players, fans and club insiders alike, he ditched the turgid one paced tiki taka bore fest, and got us playing a more varied style, which saw us become far more effective.

He's at another juncture now, as he needs to accept that his Achilles heel is his defensive coaching (or the lack of it). It's obvious that he needs help in that area and he should set his ego aside and bring in a specialist defensive coach.

If we can become more rigid at the back, then we're in business, as there's little else wrong.
this point last season mate we didn't win another game until Jan 27th or something!

only thing that changed was selling etoo italy so he stopped sticking him in the team for no reason.

Top and bottom of it is what sent Wigan down (defending) is what is holding us back now. three goals twice and two against Leicester would be confirming wins not losing points.

jesus we can't just have normality can we? either a manger who fears the other team and loses points though sending too much or one that has our best attack since the 80s and we can't defend enough to win games with a top class striker putting then away.

just to echo other comments, what would be the biggest shame is that this is what would be left without Rom. All these yarmalenko shouts yet we could have Messi and Ronaldo in the tram and the other team will at least have chance to score as many in the game.

Wish people would feck off with the term 'knee-jerking'. The manager is 2 1/2 seasons into his tenure, having an opinion about how you think he is doing so far is not knee jerking from either camps. Jees that term boils my piss.

People that talk about relegation seriously or think the likes of Mark Hughes and the latest flavour of the month could come here and be an improvement
so anyone who hasn't mentioned Hughes in past weeks that also doesn't think we will go down isn't knee jerking

The little things have convinced me that Robertos out of his depth and needs replacing, has anyone noticed Robles at half time, wandering around the pitch, doing keep ups, chatting with the groundsmen.
He's a premiership GK,who could be called upon at any minute, why has he not got a structured routine to get on with, like someone pinging balls at him, saving shots, catching crosse[unlike Howard],a few shuttles maybe,I've seen non league teams have a more professional routine for their subs at half time.
It makes you wonder what the f*** his training sessions are like.

It means you and your lot are a bunch if cry are virgins that spit the dummy every time you don't get your way.

The type of person who would have sacked Kendall pre 84
I'm not a cry are virgin, how dare you.

Give it up mate, every time I don't get my own way? If that was the case I'd have no tears left with this plank in charge.

I was worried, as were most right-minded people.

But it's good to see the standard and content of your replies hasn't changed much since the kipper days. I thought you'd have grown out of that.
You were wrong just as you're wrong to jerk your knees now.

I never posted on Kipper with you biff. See? You're wrong again.

I've not grew out of yer mar though.

I've no confidence in Martinez whatsoever but it's equally obvious that theres not many viable replacements. Personally the only way back for me is by delivering a trophy. But we'll probably need around a dozen over the two legs to beat city

If we got a pot at the end of the season i would happily take all these mistakes and a poor league season, but lets face it there is little chance of that, cant see us beating City and even if we do we never beat Liverpool and Stoke also have one over us, as for the FA cup with quite a few tops sides being off the pace for the title that will be more competive then ever.

Starting to expect us to do nothing this season, with the best squad we have seen for a long long time.

we gambled on moyes sure.

But when we got Roberto it just seemed like that's all we ever were signing, despite all the rumours, the Germans fella flying in randomly, Phil neville etc.

my gut feeling is any man who came in to replace Roberto in the future (not now), the obvious choice is Howe. The board would love nothing more surely then him staying up, doing a Wigan, going down and us shipping him in as the next manager we are giving a chance to.
