Roberto Martinez discussion

That's not quite true is it? People were seeing the writing on the wall in the match thread, and even after wins people still say what's on their mind.

The Newcastle win papered over very glaring cracks which were exposed ruthlessly today. The manager is culpable, especially with his (lack of) decision making at 3-2.

Some people have made their minds up on Martinez and, let's face it, the results say that they're 100% right about him.

What do you want them to do - happy clap all season and switch off their brain?
When has the match thread ever been a bastion of sense. It's incredibly emotional but more a reaction than a discussion thread.
No mate I want people to take a position of perspective, criticism where it's due and praise also where it's due.
Far too many agendas on here

Nah mate. Criticism is where criticism is due. Our defence is not good enough.
But reactionary beautism?
That's what I'm against.
Every loss out in force straight after the final whistle

It is okay making a statement that our defence is not good enough, but let me ask you Why? and who is responsible?

No point even discussing it [sacking] Blues.

Our regime wouldn't consider sacking him.

It would be a silly thing to do at this stage anyway.

I don't know what it would take for him to be sacked - as long as we're a top flight team and the season ticket renewals come in, then I can't see our current board ever sacking him.

Southampton, west Brom, Sunderland, villa, Newcastle, Cheslsea. That's who we've beat this season. Avarage league position of the sides we've beat is 16.3, rubbish that.

We can't beat decent teams. It's there for all to see yet so many are blind to it.

It's why I couldn't believe the reaction against Newcastle, as though a corner had been turned and Martinez had silenced the critics with a last minute winner against one of the worst teams in the league.

Oh I'm angry and frustrated, I'll just come back tomorrow and post some more once the result has settled and I have a bit more perspective about it.
Others won't
So angry you simply had to react by questioning those who react whilst using witty terms offered up by other posters. Back to bed mate, we get it you're made up with Martinez. You have nothing more to offer.

Howard was a very good keeper, one of the better ones in the division I'd say, it's really only last season he fell off a cliff. We got rid of Distin I don't know why we didn't do the same with Howard. He singlehandedly costs us so many points.
He was alright in Martinez's first season, but was still prone to making stupid mistakes, not claiming crosses and anything that isn't reflex-based saves basically.

A goalkeeper blunder was always in the works with him, and they seemed to increase ever since Moyes' last season with us. Just a lot more obvious now, as our defending is weaker and he gets to make those mistakes more and more per game.

The manager and players.
Goalkeeper being a significant part of that.
That issue needs to be fixed in January or the summer, otherwise the manager is blind and needs to go.

But I did want him in the first place, so that screws your theory you massive nimrod!

Still wanting Jelavic back?
Do you want him fired now?

Why would I want Jelavic back?

There's a bunch of pissy panted girls on here who take out their personal self loathing on Martinez.

Geordie behaviour and you'll get exactly what you deserve: Newcastle.

FIRE HIM! HIRE HIM! SIGN ALL THE FIFA PLAYERZ.

I honestly would not be surprised if he's got something on Martinez and is threatening to realise it to the media unless he's played every league game.

Yeah, definitely hearing no calls for his head in the ground or in the pub. It must just be a forum thing that wants a manager out after one win in six.
