They've barely let in a goal with him playing this season and been leaking them with him out. It's a huge boost for us if he misses those games.

Don't get me wrong, I'm happy he is missing, he is a good solid defender. I just personally think he is massively overrated and I mean massively. When I think of some of the best central defenders I have seen, He's not even on the periphery of my thoughts.

Good player, not great.

Agreed. He's very good but he's not on the same level as someone like Rio Ferdinand was. He's got a few mistakes in him.

Good player, not great.

I agree but I do think he makes the defenders around him better. John O'Shea who is another good not great was the same. You put him alongside with someone like Mangala and Mangala looks twice the player.

Nailed. My thoughts exactly. He may not be the player he was to us internet lads, but the Man City team miss him. Thats all that matters.

Yeah, I suppose his calmness and leadership aren't to be sniffed at. Just seen so so much better in that position, I don't know I don't put him in world class bracket, he is so overrated

Think a few years ago he was defo near enough world class for a spell but since the injuries hes never really been the same, hes lost so much pace and is prone to a fair few mistakes aswell

For someone who the media cream over he makes a lot of mistakes defo but like I say he's way way down on my list of best centre backs, he wont be remembered n revered like some

Just went on a bit of a marathon of Everton games after looking at ossies header say what ye want about Moyes but he made a better team and played better footy tha we could of dreamed of in the 90s.

Ps we terrorised city along the way didn't we.

I know it is good to talk down the opposition but I think we are getting carried away with ourselves. Kompany isn't in the same class as Rio Ferdinard because he has a few mistakes in him, are you honestly saying Ferdinand didn't make mistakes. Vidic kept him right for ages. I'm Irish but even I wouldn't put John O Shea in the same class as Kompany.
I would have him at Everton even if he is past his best, he could teach defenders how to defend.
