Was just thinking with the stubbs link and hibs doing ok it would make a decent match up to for everybody
Yeah it would be good for the players since they would know Stubbs, the Scottish Championship isn't the best level for anyone wanting to move into our first team soon though. Grant was up there last season (with a different team) and now he's on loan in League One.

@jinkyali posted that Naismith off to Norwich fo £7.5mil up front cash.

Next we need some chump to take McGeady off our hands, logically id say any money would do but you never know dare i say £2mil from someone somewhere....?

Mirallas then £10mil+ and we would have close to £20mil.....add on any money left from summer (signing Lennon instead of Yarmolenko) and thats a really good amount for Jan.

I wonder if out of contract players (summer) will also be factored into any wages we can offer to players although if the 3 above are moved on then thats got to be £100k a week approximately.

No matter what the doommongers say on here, Martinez always says we will come out of a window stronger than we enter it....in that case we can expect the money to be either re-invested fully OR better players to come in and the remaining cash "saved" until the summer like he did with Lukaku.

I can see a FW coming in 100% and likely a LW this window...then for the first eleven we just need a GK and a CM in the summer.

BE POSITIVE !!!!!

@Aar_the_Toffees Hakan Calhanoglu was my preferred choice in the summer when Martinez said he was after a playmaker.

At 21 years old he's just 3 months younger than Barkley add in McCarthy as the Defensive midfielder at 25 and that could be THE most dynamic central midfield in Europe.

His release clause is £28.9mil at the moment i think and with Leverkusen in 5th position in the league we could get him as he has even turned down Barca for a move to the Premier league.

If we sold Mirallas,McGeady and Naismith we'd still be short £10mil or so but that would be worth it for such a player when Ozil cost £42mil and doesnt have the same qualities.

Would be a dream come true and the 4 major talents we have would surely want to stay and play in the same side.

Wouldn't any take over interest prevent any major business decisions happening around the squad. No new potential owners are going to be happy watching an asset leave, devaluing the business without having any say in it, and our current owners aren't likely to jeopardise a potential sale of the business so close to the end of a sale by spending out.

Of course there's always the other small matter that the football manager has already said there's likely to be no incoming players as well.

Also Zat have you ever had a transfer wank list come true? It's the same every transfer window on here. Sell him buy him...its all about as plausible as me telling everyone I'd dumped my old girlfriend so I could finally hook up with India Summers.

Takeover interest = No.

Transfer hopes = Yes to an extent.

India summers = no idea.

... you think Calhanoglu is better than Ozil? Ozil is a god if he's fit and has players of an adequate quality to let him work his magic feeding them goals.

Indian Summers can be very hot and wet I hear Doug

Hi mate, i dont think he's "better" than Ozil....yet.

Ozil is the typical "type" of playmaker who is fantastic with the ball but without it he's a luxury player. For Arsenal he fits them perfectly when they have players behind him focused on winning the ball and giving it to him.

Calhanoglu has different "qualities". Not only is he a better dead ball specialist than Ozil (probably the best in the world already at 21 years old) and we really need someone to take our free kicks and corners as were useless at them....but he's also not shy to harry the opposition and perform defensive duties. He seems to be a "winner" and a team player here and so if alongside Barkley and McCarthy i think they would do very well attacking but also not concede ground defensively.

I think we need someone like him OR a Bernardo Silva type there so the opposition cant commit many players forward knowing one pass can unleash Deulofeu Barkley or Lukaku and one foul can give us a goal via a free kick from these guys....alternative is a Neves type all rounder or a Carvalho type box to box powerhouse...

Interesting to see which he goes for in terms of style. Yarmolenko for example has the size as well as the power so it could be he now brings one or two players like that to add some steel.

Btw when posting if you click "post reply" we can get a notification who youre replying to as now if you just write a post its not linked to anyone...
