A goalkeeper , like a puppy, is not just for Christmas.

It is the one position that when filled by the right player may not change for years.

I would like that between now and the end of the season that Robles be given a fair chance to establish himself as the main keeper.
If it doesn't work out for him then sign a new first choice keeper in the summer, but Robles has nearly always done well in spite of being brought in for the odd game and then being left out again.

No one in UK should be considered as 1st choice other than Butland...

He's got to go for top quality...if he was willing to spend £15-20mil on Yarmolenko then he should be willing to do the same for a keeper.

......and 30 years of age doesn't seem to fit with aspirations for a young squad.

If I had a young-ish back four, I would be crying out for a experienced keeper behind them tbh...

I listed a few keepers on the tim howard thread a day or two ago who we could go for.

Basically:

Butland - £20-25mil
Horn - £6.5mil
Karius - under £10mil
Donnarumma - £20mil+

Theres also Scuffet and the spanish u21 keeper with the mental name...and Sevilles keeper looks good also.

Thing is, if martinez wants a keeper who can throw the ball out quickly to start attacks then that narrows the list a bit.

Sergio Rico or something ? Seems alright, not sure if we could get him though.

surely all this 'buy this keeper buy that keeper' talk is just the same as untied fans talking about signing lukaku or liverpool fans about signing someone from Dormund? Just because they are good, or more specifically because they are good, why would their team even sell them?

Its not even the 'club is skint and need to sell', because the amount of time i hear that and there isn't a fire sale or vultures picking the squad apart. Remember when Valencia were selling all their best players?

He's not the best Number 10. He's best suited sat deep with McCarthy. Then Deulofeu goes in the middle, a class winger like Yarms goes on the right.

I remember him doing particularly poor his first few games for us. Specifically a shot that went right above his head and through his arms as he was flapping and falling backwards.

I skipped forward a few pages after @Dymak started kicking off with others about Fellaini/Lukaku.
Have we got any "real" rumours around?
Seen Mandanda mentioned in the news today - anything in that?
And has Yarmolenko (the new Moutinho) agreed to sign yet?

Well last season we earnt £80mil and if we finish around 7th this season we will make around £50mil more....

So, we should be able to pick and choose who we want from overseas.
