I'm happy but at the same time how are we still below them. Finally qualify for champions league they win the bloody thing. Get our biggest points total but they do better and nearly win the league. They are absolutely [Poor language removed] this season we look ten times better yet they are ahead of us. It's like they take the 'nieghbourly rivalry' seriously with us and we are oblivious. It's like they use us as a platform to measure themselves in terms of being better. Like no matter how good we are they make sure we do one better no matter how [Poor language removed] they are. This will go down like a led balloon because I'm being a negative nicky Barmby when this is our only bit of positivity for the week but we must check ourselfs before we etc.

RAWK:

Our great club is fading into mediocrity and the players and home supporters just don't seem to fussed. The rot of mediocrity Klopp is dealing with has set deeper than we could ever have feared.

Probably. Bogdan and the pitch. Nothing to do with his gegenfail hitting the buffers against a team that can bypass midfield.

Rommel he aint.

Klopp's honeymoon is now well and truly over. He has a quote at Dortmund that his philosophy was based upon dragging the opponents down to his level, then beating them.

The results against City and Chelsea reflect this. City missing Kompany, Ottamandi, Silva and only a half fit Aguero and Chelsea had players in open revolt, but they are still impressive results. However they were based upon that principle. Making it hard for better teams to play fluently. A game plan designed entirely to press and harass the opposition. Wait for the mistake then hope to punish it in their own last third.

Against poorer teams though, who are happy to surrender possessions for territory they stutter. I said a while ago, West Brom, Watford, Leicester and Sunderland would all be very hard games for them. All of those sides will press Liverpool, happily hit the ball longer and counter attack. 2 games in and they look unable to respond.

This is what underpins Klopps ridiculous behaviour last week with Pulis. In that moment his whole football strategy had been found out. Instead of trying to outwit Pulis he reduced it down to a slanging match. His post match celebrations are indicative of a man on edge, rattled and slowly growing to be out of his depth.

The difficulty is now, is the whole league have witnessed with newcastle, West Brom and Watford 3 poor performances and a clear way to outdo them. I thought it would take a few months to be found out but it's taken a few matches.

Unlike Dortmund they don't really have the personnel to play that way. His goalkeepers don't dominate the box. His centre backs make mistakes from often innocuous punts forward and concentration errors. Outside of Henderson there midfield lacks mobility. Up front none of his strikers are workhorses (outside of Ings). Bennett and storage are like fish out of water.

Alongside all of it they have a squad who can't cope with the demands of the additional effort. Hence why they are plagued with injuries. I could see this guy having a breakdown quite soon, Rodgers style and being back at Munich before too long.

Maybe the German league is just crap. Like we delt Wolfy Bergo a lesson when we where dirt last season. Maybe the hype about premier league being the best for how good the so called smaller clubs are. Maybe Klopp is out of his depth.

I completely agree mate.

When he arrived he was full of stories about how he admired 'the English game' and how he'd adapted it for th Bundesliga. Well, now he's here and experiencing some of the play he so admired up close and he cant hack it.

I wouldn't write him off too quickly. He's a manager with a record that needs respecting and he will get money to spend and could import genuine class. But he's looking like a bit of a duffer at the moment. His excuses dont bode well for an upturn, imo. If he was confident of building something at Liverpool he'd be a lot more circumspect than he has been of late. He does not look like a happy or confident man.
