Roberto Martinez discussion

Again that has what to do with Martinez
Knew I'd get a bite 17 in 55 LOL

I believe the technical term is "discrediting the witness"

That's what many of us like myself said last season though, and look how that turned out. I am reduced to hoping for league cup glory when the odds are stacked against me. It was the Europa League last year. But I suppose changing managers at this point won't achieve much as realistically we won't get even 5th place. The summer is critical though.

Have a little faith. This is a lovely squad he's built, even his detractors admit that. I think it will click, others don't. Personally, I couldn't be arsed getting into Europe unless it's the CL, which was highly unlikely even before a ball was kicked this season. Our most obtainable goal is a domestic cup and I believe Roberto has built the squad to win one. At the end of the season, I'll reassess if I have to.

The cringiest type if nothing post out there, riddled with sarcasm and an expectancy that no one has put up on the team to prove why 5 wins in 17 was expected/acceptable

Last resorts from the those that slip

Laughable

Expecially from those that would have used today's 'individual' result to prove Maryibez is doing well whilst dismissing the past 18 months.
I understand how frustrating it is for you. I get it. But please understand that there's many more people who get the need for the patient rebuilding programme which is underway. It wont get three points every game, but it'll be entertaining football either way, and we may even nick a cup in this transition period.

I know you cant stand Martinez and never wanted him here, but surely you see the type of football this young group of players are capable of under this manager and want them to be given a chance and not be constantly dragged down by criticism?

Leicester have a chance why don't we with the players we have.

5 wins all season so far i don't know if patient rebuilding is the right phrase

Damn right Dave about time you changed your tune......oh wait sorry mate ;)

Just so you know mate I've decided if we do win the cup it's all because of Robles as well.

Nil Satis Nisi Robles
I reckon we will win it too. Martinez is going to etch his name in the club's history. It's just a shame that there's actually some people who support the club who'd hate it to happen. No, I cant fathom it either.

Just seen his post match interview. Listen, I'm no HR guru, but I've run a company with over 600 employees...RM doesn't know what's going on. In fairness, when the SHTF, 99% of people don't know what to do. The 1% make great mangers...RM isn't one. Sorry @davek, he's a good bloke and will get better with experience...but football managerial greatness isn't in his DNA. And that's ok, as long as we all accept that. But the sycophants can defo do one and stop polarising RM discussion between messiah vs plotters...
Eh? What interview? Care to share it and the alarm bells it rang?

We should have won the LC by now mate. It's no excuse to say the semi finals haven't been played yet. A good manager, with these players, would have advanced to the final and won that trophy this season already.
lol are you a bureaucrat in your day to day? your ability to negotiate shifting ground, whilst having tether to only convenient pier, suggest you would make a fine one.

you are slowly going a bit nutty mate. Take a break

It's certainly not impossible with a low tide and favourable winds, but we can't expect a CL charge every season. All the teams around us are strong, lots of competition. Leicester have the gods on their side this season, happens every now and again. They're far from being nailed on to get a top 4 place like, regardless of their current standing. I hope they do tbh, could embolden a team like ours and show our players what can be done with some real application.

Plenty of positives to take from the summer and first half of the season. We're not where we'd like to be yet but 17 only games have been played.

We've stopped bottling the league cup in the first round and have made the semi which is great, comfortably beating a Boro side that just hit top of the championship, smashing 2nd place Brighton away from home today. The football's nice, we've built an ace squad and now we need a bit of defensive solidity back. That is Phil Jagielka. Hopefully he'll be back for the new year and we can break up the Stones-Mori partnership and win back some of the points we've dropped over the last few weeks, get ourselves to a cup final. Patience is the key.

Or we could just sack patience off, scrap everything and bring in a different manager that will of course immediately solve every problem because that's how football works and there's absolutely no chance whatsoever that Martinez can turn things around here.

A serious question here when martinez eventually leaves will you go and support his new club?
