Roberto Martinez discussion

something needs to change. I said I would judge martinez at Christmas and the verdict isn't as bad as it was 10 months ago.

We are in danger of running into moyed territory where we just throw the same players with the same tactics every week and hope for the best. We have been good offensively, but that means nothing if the other team can score past us no matter how bad they are!

We need to balance the team and we need to sort the defense out. There is no point scoring 2-3 goals if we are conceding more and for the love of god could martinez work on our weaknesses. It is so frustrating to see us attack well and concede easy every week, a better manager would see this and work on improving that.

All in all has martinez improved as a a manager? Yes he has, and offensively we are better, creating chances for our striker when he is facing the right way. That is a massive improvement from last season's debacle. But the same old weakness of martinez is there, same as it was at Wigan.

I know we aren't sacking martinez and I'm not calling for that, but if our defense isn't changing after all these dropped points then how are we meant to progress? We are in danger of treading water with a team capable of so much more, change things please Roberto, you clearly can do that.

and for the record losing to these today isn't a doom and gloom for me, considering they are the best in the league right now.

Sell Stones for 50 mil and get a couple of no nonsense grocks in and a keeper like leicesters and we are sorted

I think the true fans can see that the other manager stood across from him today has built something faster, better and at half the price.
When you compare the squads on paper we have far better players than them.
The difference is we have a manager who is not getting the best out of our players and they have one who is

My biggest gripe today (apart from the defensive mistakes) was the timing of the subs. I thought the subs were correct but to late. You could see the goal coming as our forwards had stopped challenging for the ball giving the Leicester players to much time. Oh and Howard is a massive problem.

I still think we are a developing side and will not be calling for our managers head.

I think we're two points better off than the same time last year, without Europe as an excuse.

With the talent we have we should be better than that. I know the side is young and mistakes are to be expected, but I personally don't think that that is an adequate improvement in results, although we are playing in a more attacking manner which is pleasing.

The problem is we're shipping too many goals with nothing seemingly being done to address it.

I do hope this honest opinion isn't seen as knee jerking - sometimes things simply aren't good enough and that's been the case recently.

When the sides' head went down vs Arsenal (2-2) last season the confidence went - I wonder has the same occurred when Bournemouth went 2-1 this season?

We can still get 4th, we're still in both cups, but my word I'm frustrated.

Do not know what you are smoking Groucho, said it before to get up there we have to win all the games while the teams above are losing theirs. Lt us be honest here, no chance.

We all know the script here: we win another game and everyone is back on board again. I cant take the issue seriously. We all know RM is safe as houses. Utterly fireproof.

By the way: if Roberto lifts the cup he gets legend status. I bet the haters are well petrified about that looming possibility.

Think about that one. :bye:

bounrmeouth game ruined us, you're right. we had such a nice run of fixtures coming up and we should be about 4th. apart from the city and united games that we deservedly lost, we've been the better team in nearly every game bar spurs. we haven't even played poorly, we haven't had a bad patch of form, just every individual error is being punished and costing us points. We're not even close to being out of form, but look at our results and they are appalling lately.

don't reckon he'll start next game tbh, he's been getting worse every game lately, but 5 games ago he was bang in form and having a great season. would have been a tad knee'jerk to drop a player after one or two bad games.

i hope he's not starting the next game ha.
There is more to managing a team than keeping his 6m signing happy.

Martinez has a squad to manage, Mirallas and Naismith are sat there, waiting for chances they should be given looking at a player under performing week in week out and still getting picked in their position, it's bad team management and it's how you create bad feeling in a squad.

Martinez should look at that game today and think enough is enough, drop Howard and Kone and give Robles and Mirallas a run in the team.

There is not a cat in hells chance he will though.
