Please show your work. I'm not understanding how "selling their best players for years" >>> "resulted in... amassing the best squad since..."

How do you think the recruitment of Lukaku and McCarthy would have come along without selling the worlds greatest CDM in Marouane Fellaini? Do you think we would have the best squad since the 30's if we hadn't have sold Rooney, Lescott etc?

I think you are missing the bit where I suggest replacing him with someone who actually knows how to deal with a cross into the box
I know what your saying
And I think it comes down to our [Poor language removed] board again
We have need a dominant centre back who's great in the air as I think it's jags main weakness and obviously stones is young and still learning that side of the game

I just think if Martinez had say 10mil available he wouldn't have bought mori look at the CB's we were linked with shawcross last January Dann & Evans while they aren't world beaters there all late 20's with loads of prem experience
We have probably paid about 2mil upfront for mori and the eddy over 5yrs

I would say that we used to sell all our best players but now that we haven't for a few years we've got a top squad. If we then sold all our best players our squad would be worse off again surely?

Apart from the fact that our performance doesn't seem to be progressing at all, we simply wouldn't have the likes of Lukaku if we hadn't sold Fellaini.

Oh, I understand. The squad would never be in the great shape it's in now if the club weren't in such a terrible financial position the past 20 years. The key to success is bordering on insolvency for so long. Everton is the PL's hydra; you can buy our best player, but we'll simply regrow two to replace him.

Best squad hey? But you want to sell out best defender. Curious.

So then maybe we should have kept Fellaini, and left McCarthy and Lukaku alone then?

I have already explained how we have arrived at having the best squad since the 30's, and it involved selling players on at a massive profit.

And nothing to do with more money being involved in football than ever before?

I bet you reckon we paid £28m for Lukaku up front don't you?

i dont think he understands mate

Are you struggling with the concept of replacing the players you have sold with the massive profits that have been gained through selling them? You shouldn't be, as that is how we have arrived with our current squad.

I'm not arsed how the payment of Lukaku is structured, we still have to pay them 28 million pound, and we wouldn't have been able to do so without the sale of Fellaini.

we bought better players with potential, you dont sell your better players and replace them with worse ones who arent gonna improve!
