Roberto Martinez discussion

Davek just said it's 46% overall, but the defensive shape married with attacking football Moyes had schooled them into has long gone, Martinez took over a very good squad that were well drilled in defensive duties, I put down a fair bit of Martinez first season to what Moyes left him with.

He's now upped the attacking threat and totally bummed out our defensive shape, and we've ended up with 31.5% out of 54, 33.3% out of 15 this season.

If this continues Martinez is not the one for us, I see no sign whatsoever he is trying to get us more solid at the back.

If we don't get CL this season, Lukaku and Stones will be gone in the summer, 100%, we need to keep this squad together, and Martinez is letting it slip by without any nounce of how to stop the rot at the back which would see us in the CL spots at the end of the season IMO.
If honest mate even if we did get top 4 it would be a struggle to keep our prized assets.
Playing for us in the CL or a team capable of winning the CL and domestic leagues and doubling you wages will be to much for them to pass up.
They are destined for glory and playing for the elite in Europe....we don't tick the two boxes

Not decrying us as a club, but we sit in a group of clubs fighting for 5th to 8th place

What was he doing wrong in the first half mate when Lukaku missed that sitter or when Baines hit the post or when their keeper made those saves?

It's unlucky when it happens in one game, it's not when it happens over half a season. It's s trend, some like to ignore it though and hope for this magical click moment when a side who can't defend suddenly start to regularly win football matches.

So it's our own defending that actually stopped us getting more goals?

Revolutionary that mate. Can you explain it in more depth please.

Not 8th. It does not give us a Europa ticket.
