Roberto Martinez discussion

Its going to be very hard to get in a top keeper in Jan...we also need a left winger and backup for Lukaku.

agree there Zat...a proper keeper might be all the focus-coaching the back 4 needs.

We need to sign one in January, for if we don't qualify for Europe this season we will lose Del, Rom & Stones.

Anyone calling for martinez's head need to take a step back and look at the squad he is putting together And the brilliant football we are playing. Yes we have problems that need addressing. But for me they are problems he can resolve. Changing the manager will be a massive step backwards.

Cryst4l meth anyone?

Yeah I agree with that, I just think when you have an inexperienced back four with players who haven't played in the league or are still learning their trade, no matter how hard you work on stuff in training you'll still see to some extent the mistakes we have on the pitch when we defend.
Set pieces shouldn't come under that bracket though.

That's the crux of it really. To be honest, I don't think we'll sort it out and, to be fair, we've been poor at defending corners since Cahill left because we lack someone who will naturally attack the ball at the near post. Couple that with Howard not being strong enough to get the likes of Hoolahan out from under his feet and we're always going to be vulnerable. But Martinez, and the coaches need to sit down, watch the replays of when we've struggled and find a way to make it less of a problem. Conceding the odd goal from set pieces is fine, doing it on a regular basis isn't.

Pipe down. I'd prefer a scrappy 1-0 win over a 1-1 and few step overs.

Honestly. 1-1 with Norwich, after dropping points to Palace and Bournemouth and we're "pure football". I run a forum and play star wars battlefront on PS4 and not had a sex drought as long as our run without two wins on the bounce.
...

This is a team in the process of becoming a very special one. Tbh, if we drop points to finish the weekend at 8th rather than 6th (or the season 8th rather than 5th) I wouldn't be remotely arsed. This season is all about having a crack at the cups and the on going rebuilding of a team that's long needed it. Thus far it's been very successful.

Good football v spawny wins playing rubbish: lets not forget this is also an entertainments industry and I for one am very proud of any Everton team that can play with the type of quality we play with.

Look to the long game, not the short term fix.

Massive win for the Catalan alliance today.

Plotters scattered all over the show. Let that be a lesson to you.

Speaking of which did anyone see how easy @ianefc was slapped out of this thread?

Even GOT himself bounced in and his slapped down by @Dithering Dougie with same day vault action.

GOT is BACK.
Lol you wanted Moyes back and I'm sunning myself at Typhoon Lagoon, you're sat in your room chatting wham. Big win for the Catalan alliance you say, Shame that same Catalan can't win more than one in three. Carry on enjoying the draws and chatting guff talking of the future, the future where our stars settle for mid table winning a game every once in a while. LOL. As if they're going to stay for that, you clearly have no clue.

I see 8 players there that are not Moist players.

That's great, well done.

I don't see your point like in response to the below;

Despite your counting, most in today's squad were brought in by Moyes.

dave, I'm not going to read that. All you've done is motivate me to find a plugin that will allow admins to use the ignore feature. Frankly, I find it astonishing we're denied that right.
