Roberto Martinez discussion

I don't think it is fitness mate. We cover as much ground as any other team.

Think it's just inexperience.

We're struggling with tempo in the second half, how is it not down to fitness? Look at how Norwich maintain their pressing with their superior fitness in the second half and we have no answer for that. We simple fall flat.

thats not the point, your going around chatting about only losing 3, id of taken a couple more defeates from games we drew and a couple more victoruies from games we drew and we could of soon climbed the table.

Yes.

Two wins and a defeat from the past three games would have seen us three points better off this afternoon.

Mid season and we are still struggling to last 90mins.

Every fking game we run out of gas around 70 mins mark.

You call this good management Roberto?

The games in January will cripple us we're that unfit, no way will we beat city, Liverpool can play 3 games in a week and draw 1 and win 2 but we can't last 90 mins, just unbelievable

I'd rather we won the games we lost and drew.

It's irrelevant though, to get to this point of the season only losing 3 games is very good.

I don't look at the table mid game and tell the opposition how well the league tells them they should be playing

We need the ball back, we needed control. There were more than enough attacking players on the pitch and Clev, Barry and Gibbo can all score. They weren't all playing as DM's
I'm so confused by this comment, mate.

You can't seriously think playing with three defensive midfielders when trying to win a game is a good thing?

Gibson, Cleverly and Barry have how many goals between them?

Who?

The players, or manager?

The latter is what has me concerned.

Our squad/league position has under performed now for a long time.

Could another manager take this squad to another level?

We'll never know like, because Martinez is here for a long time but I can understand the concern towards the manager - more so than last season.
Disagree mate. Last season I had far more concerns. This year I can see him trying to gel together the best young team I've seen at Everton in 30 years.

There will be ups and downs but I don't reckon were far from clicking.

The fanbase needs to be a bit more patient towards the manager, he's setting the club up right in the position were in. From the youth teams too.

Would be a shame if we done a Geordie special and ruined a good thing before it had the chance to blossom.

We're going nowhere in a hurry with the ownership of the club we have right now, so why can't people wait a bit?

To the chaps who do want rid of the boss, do you actually think he will be sacked?

Honestly.

No, and he shouldn't be just yet.

But his position shouldn't be without scrutiny.

Nobody can deny we under performed last season, and this season.

Just what would be a sackable performance from him? Bottom half half finish?

Right, mate.

I'd like to hear your comments on his performance this season.
I think we've seen a massive turn around in regards to chance creation.
We play with tempo and have been able to break down nigh every team we've played.
Exciting attacking football.
Suspect defending setpieces and crosses into the box, however a large part of that comes down to a limited Howard and lack of defensive consistency due to injuries to our back four.
Partnerships are still forming and a young group is gaining experience and growing together.
Our recruitment looks good with RFM, Cleverly and Del all very handy players by the looks.

Norwich we're never going to be as bad as they were in the 1st half, they were booed off at home so had to come out and show some pride and fight.

We should have had the match won at half time, no denying that.

Martinez seemingly sent the players out with the impression Norwich were gonna be that bad. Poor management.

These last dropped 6 points are all on Martinez. It's the manager's force of personality which makes sure his team are fully-focussed shortly after scoring (ala Bournemouth) and don't let their heads drop after losing a comfortable lead (ala Norwich).

If Martinez can't show he has this massively-important quality, then there's no case to answer the plotters, as results won't go our way.
