Roberto Martinez discussion

I'm just going to go ahead and predict our next game(s)

We will smash them all over the place for 45 minutes, missing a few chances but Lukaku will stick one away.

We will then come out for the second half, concede a corner and someone will have a free header to get them right back into it. We will then continue to flounder at a pedestrian pace for the rest of the half, barely hanging on for a well earned point!

Think that just about covers it.

For Martinez to be classed as a good manager, he needs to sort out these defensive frailties.

Unfortunately, i'm well aware our board won't do anything regarding his position, so somebody needs to have a word and tell him that he's in danger of losing our best players because we won't qualify for anything; or win anything whilst he continues to neglect a fundemental part of the game. Don't get me wrong, he deserves credit for the team he's assembled, but he's in real danger of squandering that.

Genuinely hope Jones gets the Swansea job, and we get an assistant in who will address the defensive side of the game.

It's just so frustrating, feels like we're only going to have this team for a short amount of time and we're not doing anything with it. We've got a striker that's scored 15 league goals and we've only won 5 games.

This is exactly the point. Next thing will be the top players wanting away, squad breaking up etc. We're wasting time with this imposter. Week after week grinding slowly into season after season. Imagine what a half decent manager could do with this squad.

He deserves some credit for some parts of the squad he's added (rom, geri etc) but he's clearly not up to managing them or our great club.

Some hot heads in either camp today when what we need is a bit of perspective.

Take deep breath, count to ten and let it sink in that we are still a developing team. There will be frustrations like today but we are playing some boss football and could be on the cusp of something great.

Note the word 'could' though as we have been here before so it's okay to have doubts provided you don't let them fester and turn you into a doom mongering melt

Similarly we aren't about to win the league so optimism is great but don't let our sexy football cloud your judgement either.

In summary, be cool lids and lets all be friends x
