So we would like the champion league to be won by one of the top 4 and 5th will also get CL or Man u to win the europa cup and get a place in the top 4

No 5th qualifying place only awarded if CL or EL winner has not qualified for CL through being in top 4.

This bit is not correct mate, in those circumstances the PL would have 5 representatives in the following season's CL.

I don't think that is wrong actually Esk.

They changed the rules did the not? After the year we finished 4th... Subsequently Spurs, who finished 4th, ended up in the Europa League, when Chelsea, who finished outside top 4, won the champions league.

It is the case for the Europa League, but don't think it is for the CL, otherwise you could end up with 6 teams in the champions league, which isn't possible.

Out target should be to win the PL and if by some miracle we finish 3rd then no worry s.
Hate the way finishing 4th has become the new title..small time.

Just to add to the confusion, the winner of the SPT (Seventh Place Trophy) goes into the CL qualifying round 2.
