Denys Boyko from Dnipro has been linked. Supposed to be the Ukrainian Neuer, nominee for UEFA Team of the Year. Very very good keeper.

So you'd rather sign a less good number 2 keeper and play him instead if needed?
Why not just buy in a better no2 keeper that can oust Tim full time? Or perhaps even just an new number 1?
I think the point is that Joel may be a decent keeper, but it's very difficult for him to develop his game if he only plays 5-6 games per season. This is the 3rd consecutive season where he's hardly played, so he's probably not ironing out the issues in his game. If he went elsewhere and played 50 games, he may come back vastly improved. And i'm sure there were available freebies who could have done as good a job as Joel in the short term.

i dont know why people keep mentioning butland. unless hes in the last year of his contract or something stoke will be looking about £20m for him id say

yeah. i'd like him, but he'd be way too pricey. The thing is, some players may view stoke as being just as good a proposition as us. We'd laugh at it, but they have got some really great attacking options in shaqiri, bojan, arnoutavic and affelay.

He'd probably not even force a move because he'd want to leave for bigger things, but probably not view us a massive step up. all very plausible.

Well, according to his agent, Dnipro have recevied offers from "2 very good English mid-table clubs", didn't say which clubs in particular but it's two of Everton, Stoke, Palace, Leicester or Southampton. I say "linked" because I'm unsure if we'll actually sign him given Roberto's blind love for Howard. He'd be an amazing signing but I dunno if it's ever gonna happen tbh.
