Honestly can't fault the lads after that performance, just one of those days when the opponent played absolutely brilliantly defensively and palace are a bloody good defensive outfit, and but for the width of the bar/post we'd have scored 4, keep that kind of effort and will combined with style of play and we will finish in the mix this season

Kone drops deep and links the play and allows Ross to push on past him. He did it countless times, even if it wasnt his greatest night.

Mirallas does not do that and changes the make up of that attack if he comes on.

To me it was working, and slightly better finishing would have seen us with 3 points.

The fact we dominated for the vast majority of the game speaks volumes about our current ability

that is true, but the table doesn't lie...these dropped points might've been avoidable had we made the right sub at the right time (Kev for Kone after the hour)

I thought Palace were brilliant all night, especially defensively, but going forward they were always a threat.

Draw was just about a fair result for me. We played well but didn't quite create enough to cause them real problems.

It does feel as if we only need a player or 2-3 to get a really great team that does compete for CL.

A top of his game Pienaar instead of Kone in that second half and we would have been just too good for them.

Very good game. Obviously unlucky not to score more than 1 but a terrible goal to concede.

It's our defence that will cost us CL this season. Going forward we look as dangerous as anyone.

It's the one thing that disappoints me about the boss' approach. He can't seem to stop the ocasional fatal wobble at the back.
