The Car Diagnostics Thread......

Obviously I know nothing about cars, but I'm sure some of the lads on here do, so if you have a problem just post it in here and after the sawdust jokes you may get a sensible answer.............probably not but it's worth a try.......

Long time thread reader, first time poster. I've got a current model Honda Odyssey, the sliding doors will not open when the car is running, but work when the car is off. They will close when the car is running. Have tried sawdust, both on the front seat and into the gas cap, but now the car's more messy than ever and is making weird sounds. I'll hang up and listen.

My headlight bulb has gone. Ford Fiesta 2003. Where do I get one from and are they easy to change?
If you can't be arsed doing it yourself, take it to any Halfords, cost you about a fiver with the fitting. Dead easy to do yourself though yourself on a Fiesta as the bulb is easy to get to.
They're cheap and easy - should be a couple of clips and/or screws behind the unit, depending on the model.

Or you can get the lad in the shop to do it.

It's only a guess but I'd say that they won't open when the car is running as a safety feature ?. Stands to reason that they shouldn't be opened when it's running / being driven as a passenger could fall out .

If you go onto any Honda forum wou will get a more definitive answer than " apply sawdust liberally " !

Disappointed not to get a good answer here. Next you'll be telling me to go mumsnet for help.

Think this is the case. Same thing holds true with my Odyssey

Will just get someone to do it, seems cheap. Thanks all.

Been putting it off for ages...

Wrong kind of sawdust I think - needs hardwood rather than softwood.
Or vice versa.
Glad to be of help.
