Can't see McCarthy being risked as he looked in real pain when he came off. Barry might limp on but Besic, who would probably be the best like for like McCarthy replacement, hasn't even made the bench the last two games despite playing 45 mins for Bosnia - presumably a setback in his fitness.

Gibson/Cleverley/Osman all lack game time and are likely to struggle after 60mins plus both Deulofeu and Barkley looked tired at Bournemouth.

Mascot Roary the Lion and five Boro fans will be donning their best Speedos tonight to raise money for MFC Foundation.

At half time during Boro’s quarter final League Cup tie against Everton, the Boro fans will brave the cold in their swimwear and take on well-known Toffees fundraiser ‘Speedo Mick’ and his team in a relay dash around the Riverside.

The five-leg race promises to be a great deal of fun - all in the name of charity.

The Middlesbrough runners are raising funds for the MFC Foundation, while Speedo Mick continues his fundraising for a Merseyside Hospice.
