Goat

Player Valuation: £380m

I think I know WHAT to do when I buy it, well I presume you just stick it in the slot next to the Memory already in, but im not 100% if im buying the right stuff.

Does anybody know if thats how I fit it and also if im buying the right stuff?

:(

I tend to use play.com or overclockers. They always seem alright price wise. But I will be shopping around, got about £150, should be able to ugrade it a bit for that.

Can you find out what motherboard you have? Just to see if what you've got at the moment is the fastest you can have.

To be if it is, I wouldn't bother getting more of it. The difference between 2gig and 3 or 4 gig of ram is pretty small, especially if you can only have [Poor language removed] ram like yours. Personally I'd spank all your money on a good gfx card instead, something like this Sparkle GeForce GTX 275 896MB GDDR3 PCI-Express Graphics Card (Includes Batman: Arkham Asylum & 3D Discover Glasses)

And if you have the 32-bit version of windows, it is a waste to put 4gb of ram in. RAM is shared in this case and windows can only handle 4gb total, and that includes your gfx card. So if you have a 512Mb card and 4 gb of RAM, then you essentially have a 512mb gfx card and 3.5gb of RAM ;)

If you have the 64bit OS, then go hog wild and get 8gb!!!!!

I have got an ASUS P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe. And thats the GFX card im getting. So your saying you wouldnt bother with ram?

Here goat, install this program, CPU-Z, it tells you everything you could ever want to know about your computer hardware, and probably some stuff you don't want to know:

http://www.cpuid.com/download/cpuz/cpuz_152_setup.exe

Then, when you figure out your ram type (including the make and model) buying some more should be a piece of cake.

Coolio.

That's actually a very good motherboard and I'm fairly sure it supports pc6400 (a step up from your ram atm). If your current ram is budget [Poor language removed] then it might be worth replacing it with this OCZ Platinum Revision 2 XTC 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Series (OCZ2P800R22GK)

If your ram is ok, yeh I wouldn't bother, just leave it at 2gig. That gfx card will make a big difference, you checked your psu can handle it? Did you end up buying that new monitor? If you had money to spare I'd spend it on a better screen. Stuff that makes a difference for games in order: gfx card, monitor, cpu, ram.

As if you're doing all this just to get 100fps in the new cod you bender.

Hmmm, theres a thing, my PSU is only 550w, that might create a problem? Feck CBA buying a new PSU, nevermind installing it.

My PC was superb when I bought it, found the invoice before Dec 06.

Yus, I got a new monitor, its not a gaming 1, its just a normal 5ms, they say you should use 2ms for gaming, but feck that. 22" LG WS, its badboy.

I got a dual core 2.4 thingy doodaa. So that should be alright, but if I need a new PSU im gonna wait and buy new PC, cant be bothered with all that shizzle. Just wanna stick a new GFX card in.

And the new CoD will be PHAT!!! I needzzzzzzzz FPS.
