Yes totally agree, When younger I used to "watch on Ceefax" if we lead at any stage I was convinced that the result depended on me not checking again. It had nothing to do with Earl Barrett, Marc Hottiger or Paul Holmes usually getting the run around by Efan Ekuku.

I went home and away during my teens and 20s including european aways and pre-season tours to America, didn't miss any sort of game for about 8 years at one point, im 35 with 2 young kids now so thats all over, still got my season ticket and wouldn't give that up although its getting more and more about the bevy before and after with the lads rather than the game itself. Ive also got a sweet deal with the missus where I can go to all the european aways if I dont go to the normal aways. I went to 6 aways all last season, the 5 in Europe and the Anfield Derby.

Some proper rubbish getting spouted here. People having a go at fans who choose not to go to games is just cringeworthy. Everyone is entitled to make whatever choices they want in that regard, and i've thought many times about packing it in myself.

I've had a season ticket for 20 years, travel up from London for every home game and go to 7 or 8 aways a year. I don't do it because i'm a superfan and think my support is crucial to the team, or because I love every second I spend at the match. I do it because it's my hobby, and i'd be at a bit of a loss of what to do if I stopped. We go the game, it's what we do.
