Spot on.Not his fault though mate, he's limited on the ball in the way that Galloway isn't, but he's more of a typical CB it seems. Thought he played very well and kept Coutinho very quiet. What did you expect an out-of-position 21-year old to do?

Yes, it should be remembered that he's out of position but doing a job, if unspectacular. It will do him good to get games under his belt without much fuss afforded to him, that includes over praising him too.
He's a young local lad who has just come through his first full game and first Merseyside Derby in a matter of weeks. And he's not playing in his preferred position.
He will be happy with that and so should we.
Ok mate don't be happy about it.No, we absolutely shouldn't be happy about it. I'm not going to hold the performance against Browning or write him off for the future because of it, but it really wasn't a good performance. Yes, there are extenuating circumstances, and it certainly wasn't a disaster, but it really hurt our overall performance today not having a proper right back in the lineup.
I didn't expect Browning to do any better. He completely lived up to my low expectations. You're right; it's not his fault. That doesn't make it a good performance, though. Not his fault though mate, he's limited on the ball in the way that Galloway isn't, but he's more of a typical CB it seems. won't stop the knobheads criticising though...He won't be the answer at right back but who else could we play there?
The boy done well.

We need attacking fullbacks to do well in Martinez' scheme. When we don't have them, we do worse. Galloway has figured that out and we've looked much better since he has. Browning isn't there yet. He might very well be someday, maybe even very soon, but he wasn't today, and we suffered for it. That's not a criticism of him personally, just noting that it's unfortunate that we're in a situation where we need him to figure this out during competitive matches. I'm unhappy with the situation, not Browning.
And there we have it -- your assessment has been prejudged by your 'low expectations'. The lad did extremely well defensively. Keep in mind that for the first hour he had no protection in front of him. Why do we now judge our FBs by their prowess going forward? That should be a bonus not a starting requirement. In any event Browning is being groomed as Jags's eventual replacement, not Coleman's.I didn't expect Browning to do any better. He completely lived up to my low expectations. Sorry, no. I thought he was really poor today. It's certainly excusable given his age and experience, but he offered nothing going forward and it caused almost every attack down the right side to fall apart. As soon as Deulofeu or Lennon received the ball in any sort of advanced position, two or three red defenders would swarm on him, and with Browning way back at the halfway line there was no place for the ball to go. That would be excusable if he had a difficult defensive job to do, but he didn't have a winger to worry about at the other end (and didn't do a terribly good job helping out on Moreno or Coutinho, either).
Again, it's tough to really get too upset at him; he's very young and inexperienced and doubtless has a lot of room to improve. That doesn't make his performance today any better, though.
he's a far superior athlete too, so he will actually be able to play CH, which is were Hibbert would have played had he had the buildHe offered what Tony Hibbert did to Everton. That same Hibbert who got ten years as first choice right back at Everton.
