Whenever they hound out a manager there is always a list of top names linked with the job but who was the last big name they had as manager? They're not an attractive prospect (other than the name); two big factors they're not in the Champions League and they have an expensive squad assembled by Rodgers.

It will be January before a manager can make his own signings and even then I can't see FSG wanting to spend too much. I'd imagine FSG will be looking for either a stop gap till end of season or a guy who would consider Liverpool a 'step up'. They'll all bang on about getting Klopp/Ancellotti then end up getting someone cheap and easily placated...then proceed to label him the understated manager they need.

Dream scenario is they just keep Rodgers in the job though
