I'd go as far as to suggest that Saturday was Barkley's best performance in an Everton shirt

Was sat with a mate of mine at Swansea who is not a Barkley fan and even he admitted that Barkley was the best player on the pitch on Saturday.

He was marvellous - everything I've been critical about of him in the past - his decision making, his choice of pass and timing of when to release the ball, etc - all of it was hugely improved on Saturday. A proper class display. Delighted with him.

He had a lot of the ball which is good and he seems to drop off and find space, like Rooney, our team wasn't fluid enough though in the kovement and running off the ball, lots of players stood waiting for it to come to them.

I can understand some getting frustrated with him last season as he under-performed but how any evertonian can not be a Barkley fan is beyond me! He is all things good, pacey, strong, likes a strike, plays through balls, runs with the ball at people and is an evertonian himself. I can't wait for him to claim a derby match as his own.
