Yer I agree actually.

Gosh exciting times...

Heitinga would be an excellent signing, killing two birds with one stone, right-back, and at a push centre-back should Distin, Yobo and Jagielka not be available.

Pienaar tends to float, so there's no reason why him and Diniyar can switch, good versatility.

Bentley keeps popping up, I think he'd be a great signing. If he produced his best he'd be massively appreciated at Goodison, and he can play centrally or on the wing.

Exciting!

Agreed, he's played with Pienaar at Ajax aswell.

Bentley is a good player, I'd certainly take him. Signing him might give a chance to give Pienaar a go in the middle, something Moyes mentioned in pre-season.

"If there had been a young (central defender) available, I would maybe have thought about it. But I felt we needed someone to keep us where we are just now.”

Interesting quote this...

I think it means any signings made between now and tuesday won't be the young centre-back (Taylor, Shawcross, Wheater) that we have expected.

Heitinga looks very likely, as he is primarily a right-back and as pointed out in a previous post, would provide centre-back cover.

Well, Heitinga can play CB, Jags, Yobo, Distin, Neville, Rodwell and as somebody once said, Cahill.

Cahill plays CB?

So you figure if Heitinga plays right back and we get an injury, then it's Hibbert back in and Heitinger moves over? Fair idea I suppose.

I'm thinking that this time next year, we won't have any money yet again, and with Cahill 30, Neville 33, Howard 31, Saha 32, Hibbert 29 ( ages as of next year ) and Jo possibly not staying , we need to look at this while we have a few quid.
Some of these players may decide to consider their options in 2010.

If we sign this fella and somebody else who can play in various postions, I cant wait till Wednesday, I can make a special spreadsheet with different players and postions.

Infact im that excited im gonna start it now.

Some of these players may decide to consider their options in 2010.

Cahills got a couple of years left in him and Baxter as his natural successor, Neville has Rodwell as his natural successor, Sahas only a backup striker, Hibbert will hopefully be backup anyway, Jo isn't that good anyway.

And Howard? Goalies are in their prime in their mid 30s

What a signing if so, he can change the way our beloved club play.

Back to the good old days of top class players coming into our glorious club.

Something I havent seen as I wasnt around for the 1980s
