Ok, so decided to go for MGS. Just put it on now and the fact that the game opens with Bowie makes it already my favourite game.

I'm a big mgs fan, was a little anxious Id be let down soon as bowie came on, well, Kojima had me there.

Also check out This War of Ours (or Mine, not sure), which I thouhgt looked better. It has a similar concept, but bsaed during war obvs, and you get to go and search different buildings in that as well.
