Even The Mail have waved the white flag now.

LOL, schadenfreude feels good.

You know what Ed, I am just weary now.

Ever since Tuesday night when the TR went in I have spent every moment of my spare time on GOT looking for news, seeking reassurance from like minded fellows and and generally avoiding every other source of news on the matter.

It only dawned on me around tea time tonight that we have a big game tomorrow.

Though that is mainly the fault of @chicoazul as he never put no preview up until less than 24 hours before kick off, the tardy bugger

Yes, I don't get into match mode these days until I have read your review :pint2:

I must say it had been a great help having you and all the rest of the boys....and you too @LinekersLegs and @Anna ....to share the stress and the anguish.

It all got a bit heated at times but sure nobody fell out a and the forum provided a much needed release valve.

I must admit I never thought football could get me like this again......it is a great feeling :celebrate:

Don't worry my man, normality will return next week and we can all get back to being moaning Blues again. :pint2:

Oh will you stop! Everyone at EFC deserves a pat on the back for their conduct throughout this and the resulting outcome.

I'm not saying you have turned against Stones. But you appear to still blame him solely for the events of the last few days which is why I mentioned the agent and his influence over the player. Of course it is a presumption to say that he was badly advised but I believe it is a fairly accurate one. Especially as our manager said just that.
I believe I have made that point on numerous occasions mate. We had to, and did, make a stand.
I don't blame the player solely at all. My argument is that most in here are blaming the agent solely and the player is a victim. How is someone of your obvious intelligence missing that my man? ;)

I'm not missing it at all. ;)

Now is the time to get behind the player though.

Lol why can't players just shut up
The stuff he would do to force a move

and there is the epitome of a total scumbag footballer .... no gratitude towards his club for paying him a wage .
no loyalty or thought for the supporters who pay for the merchandise or tickets and travel up and down the country .
no bond with his team mates.
a completely self absorbed self obsessed nasty selfish vile individual with no morals .........and lets face it , a fourth rate footballer , a major irritant , a total joke and a pretty bad pundit who achieved nothing worth shouting about in the game.

a bucket filled with vomit , used condoms , bloody tampax , dog crap and horse semen is more likable and deserves more respect than Robbie savage.

Am I right in saying Savage got into trouble with the football authorities for taking a dump in the referee's changing room and not flushing it after?

He's a beaut mate. He needs to get them up by Thursday and improve their quality. Or the mods will be putting in transfer requests with that judas rat's lack of ambition.

Stones still here.

I did say like.

The article shows how spoilt footballers are, stones will be fuming now but who cares, Chelsea don't want to pay the asking price as they want him for less then 30 million. The club comes before Stones

I don't care. He signed a 5 year contract last year.

No one forced him to.

Having said that, not that Stones is moving, but why do we all of sudden think he is happy with the situation he finds himself in?
People seem to think all is rosy and he wants to be here?
Tbh not sure Jags was that happy at the time when the Arsenal bid was turned down, or Baines that the United transfer didn't happen. Kev probably would have liked a transfer to a Spanish CL team, Lukaku to have earned a first team spot at Chelsea, Barkley to have avoided a double leg break and Deulofeu to have got regular playing time with his childhood club of Barcelona.

Even for high quality footballers life doesn't always pan out exactly like you plan/want it to.

Most professionals manage to put disappointments into the past and focus on working even harder to achieve their aims in the future. John seems an ambitious but grounded lad with hopefully has a long career ahead of him, if he continues progressing he'll either earn us the silverware we crave or get a move to a team that will.

All great points. The difference though being that none of the above kept quiet for over a month showing the impression they wanted to stay, only to blindside the Manager, Board and fans of his current club with a transfer request 6 days before the transfer window closes, seemingly timed in collusion with The Manager/Board of the club of his "dream move" trying to force through the move.

Are you telling me even your good self, who as we know going by our respective histories in here is far more forgiving than myself ;), don't have a different feeling towards Stones after the happenings of the last week compared to the others you mention?

No, quite honestly was disappointed that Stones handed in the transfer request at such a late stage given our available lineup and at the first approach of another club.

But in the scheme of things it is a fairly understandable, he is just trying to further his career and despite the transfer request he has remained professional throughout - I did far stupider things for less clear advantages and under far less pressure at a similar age ;)
