Exclusive: Everton tell PSG £50m not enough for Coleman after shock bid from French champs
EVERTON have told billionaires Paris St-Germain that not even a £50m bid will persuade them to sell Seamus Coleman.
The French champions have lodged a shock £20m offer for the Republic of Ireland star that has been turned down.
PSG bosses lodged the bid on Thursday through an unnamed English agent who works on behalf of the mega-rich outfit and is based in the French capital.
But Toffees bosses rejected it within minutes and have made it clear to PSG that Coleman is not for sale at any price.
The Merseyside outfit have rejected three bids from
Chelsea for John Stones in recent weeks, the last one being £38m.
Now it seems the Premier League outfit will take the same stance with Coleman, who has emerged as one of the best attacking full-backs in Europe and was a target of
Manchester Unitedearlier this summer.
A club source told
Starsport: "There seems no chance of Seamus being sold to Paris Saint-Germain.
"Perhaps they thought their financial muscle could see a deal done, but the initial bid was turned down straight away and it was made clear that a second one, no matter how big, would also be rejected."
Coleman, 26, joined
Everton from Irish side Sligo Rovers in 2008 for just £60,000 and signed a new and improved deal at Goodison Park last season.
